Life is so unpredictable, and like my dad always says, its too short to be stuck in a rut! One way to get out of a rut is to find inspiration in the great outdoors. Activity and fresh air are energizing! Sunday at 9pm ET/8c on Sarah Palins Alaska, we show you a few things that we find more fulfilling than staying indoors and sitting on the couch.Plato said, You learn more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation. So join us as we learn more about each other and what Gods creation has to offer, as we pack up the RV to go dog mushing, white water rafting, four-wheeling, and fossil hunting where we find evidence of ancient sea life on the high hilltops of the Last Frontier! Come join us as we experience more of Alaskas amazing sights and meet a few more of our friends, including a very special friend we visit in this episode who passed on recently. This episode is dedicated to our old friend Bones. You can watch a preview of it here.
My early New Years wish for all is that inspiration and fulfillment will be yours in 2011. Remember that one way to find that is to get outdoors.

Me too, on all counts. I think they realize they have a special mom, dad and close family.
I watch this series and then I hear Geraldo in the background ranting about her and it makes me detest all of her detractors.
See you before Christmas!
Yep, I saw it and wished Syncro was here to capture a screen shot. I think the shows airs in CA in approx 100 minutes from now.
Tough country for a guy that old, but he probably wouldn't have wanted to live anyplace else.
Four new members from this thread tonight. I will forward the names in FR mail.
Thanks and goodnight... I really enjoyed tonight’s show.
I really, really, really, want to hold Trig! And the puppies, and go to AK right this minute!
We had a blast when we were there last, stayed a week inland, then took a cruise ship back.
My son has dreams of being a bush pilot there..he wants to attend a Flight school there that has Russian pilots that teach how to fly around mountains.
It scares me, so I ask him not to talk about it, lol!
As per the recipe at http://www.recipelink.com/mf/31/6915 : They are named “vacuum cleaner” cookies because they disappear so quickly!
My mom said they were very good a couple of times in the last hour or so (since I didn’t burn them, I’m taking that as a no- or low-bias opinion. : ) I used a spice cake mix (subset of my new recipe adventure was that chocolate was not an ingredient, not normal for me!). Out of my comfort zone, Gov. Palin! It’s a no-measure recipe, unless you measure out the walnuts and coconut.
Sarah’s dad is my favorite.
Add me to Sarah Palin list, thank you
OK, everyone. Thanks for the replies. Not much of a hunter (more of a fisherman with dad as a kid). That all makes sense. Thanks.
A sad note at the end, that.
A few years ago, we went to counter-protest a million-mom-march in downtown Phoenix. All the mom’s were enclosed in a fenced area of Patriots Park, while we gun folks were on the other side of the street. We were having a ball. Many of us had enough water and food to share. Someone bought a bunch of pizzas. We were having a wonderful time counter protesting.
The mom’s had to buy water and food because none of them had brought anything. They were relying on vendors to meet their basic needs. When the march was over, the police escorted several of the attendees, mostly women, through the crowd of the gun folks. They spit at us, cursed at us. Their hate was palpable. As we were all hydrated and well-fed, we were kind to these pathetic people. That’s when I saw the stark difference between liberals and conservatives.
THANK GOD I fall on the right side. ;-)
Oh gosh! LOL.
I was thinking "pressing the dough out of a vacuum cleaner bag" (a new one of course)...lol.
Your mom is the judge and she sounds happy!
Thanks very much for the recipe. Cream cheese! YUM!
I will give it a try and see what happens. Sounds to yummy to pass up.
Thanks again, sweet you.
He’s awesome! Mr Heath is a fabulous teacher and a great outdoorsman of his own merit.
More than one writer, has said that he deserves his own show.
Happy to add you!
WELCOME Lily4Jesus!
I know how you feel. I myself never really became a political person until recently. But I am FED UP!! I almost feel sorry for these people. Almost.
he'd never been seen again....Bear bate or he'd point the wrong end of the gun at the bear!
LOL. :)
You’re most welcome. I have to admit that their name was so unappetizing that I had to see what was going on in the recipe. I thought the cookies themselves would look like the contents of a vacuum cleaner bag! But, happily, it looks quite appetizing after all. Whew, what a relief!
