Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) does not see a political lift for President Obama in the imminent repeal of the Clinton-era policy banning gays from serving openly in the military.
I think the people who are supportive of 'Dont ask, dont tell were probably supportive of the president to begin with, he told reporters in the Capitol.
Most Americans, I think, hope it works out. I certainly do. I think it is going to be problematic and whatever problems it has, [Obama] owns, Graham added.
The old system worked out for Graham.
Expect legions of lefty beltway bandit businesses to swarm around military installations, eager to be paid to tell them how Christianity is nothing but nonsensical, hateful discrimination.
Keep your ear to the ground for sounds from your chaplains. I expect most will be told to leave, and leave quietly subject to only God knows what if they don't.
McCain let his wife and daughter campaign for repeal on TV and in print....so he did not have to.
Don’t Ask/Tell Repealed

McCainiac and Graham didnt have to dirty their hands by voting FOR the bill, as they were assured it already had enough RINO votes to pass.

Everything they do is about weakening-no, destroying-America, and this is the latest victory in that effort. The infuriating thing is that this decadent American culture is shrugging its shoulders while it happens, assuming most even notice.
“The current vote is up or down on repeal of DADT and I’m pretty sure Ensign was an aye. I could have heard wrong, but that’s the way I heard the lady record his vote.”
Okay, I see.
Yep- apparently he, along with Burr switched: 65-31 final vote. (Seems strange they would do this).
The military’s mission is to break things and kill folks and anything that distracts from that is anathema in my view. They even discharge folks for adultery because it is a distraction. This is going to be a mess the military is not a social experiment nor should it ever be.
Exactly. Either scenario works for them, either one stops the voice of dissent.
We can rightly blame Obama and the congressional Democrats along with the 'gay' activist groups that have pushed for this, which is essentially validating homosexual behavior as 'normal' and, by doing so, making any member of the military that even opposes that behavior on a strictly religious basis (Muslims included) probably deemed in need of 'sensitivity training' and very likely suffering a loss of opportunity for advancement. However, I also blame the unnecessary continuation of 'lame duck' legislative sessions conducted by politicians that have been rejected by the voters yet get to rush through harmful legislation within a six-week window that shouldn't exist. Newly elected Senators and Representatives should be sworn in immediately upon their election being certified by the proper authority and the losers should have to vacate the Capitol, not get to pass their agenda items while cleaning out their desks.
It's easily predictable that lawsuits will fly from gays claiming they were 'oppressed' or 'harassed' and by straights claiming that they are punished for their own (heterosexual) sexual preferences by gay superior officers and NCOs and their personal rejection of homosexual behavior on a moral basis. It will be interesting to see how two of the liberal's pet groups - gays and Muslims - are treated by the party that championed the repeal of DADT, just to weaken our military and shove homosexual behavior in America's face. This will not end well - for anyone.
Complete collapse of the military would make Zeros supporters ecstatic.
Yeah Goober, Obummer will own it, but our national security will be the victim. Saw an expert on FOX today say there could be up to 40% of our front line troops leaving and retiring over this. What type of gaping hole in security will that leave?
Obummer will have to institute the draft again, every leftists wet dream.

Care to tell us how a Draft would be a wet dream for the left? They loath the military, and many would never want to serve its cause: AMERICA!
I think when they (the Libs) realize might have to serve involuntarily, this will not be a wet dream for them, but rather a cold reality.
I've seen reports on FR that the percentage of lesbians in the military could be as high as 40% (I have no idea how accurate that is). They will now have a new weapon to use to coerce unwilling targets to yield to their advances or be accused of homophobia. The only recourse for the target would be to get out of the military as quickly as possible.
“Care to tell us how a Draft would be a wet dream for the left?”
Ah, easy one:
To send “privileged” white males off to fight (to fill in for the “poor” minorities who currently serve because they “have no other job prospects because of racism”) all the while quietly giving exemptions to Muslims (for religious reasons) and minorities (well... just because)...
...What’s that you say- they would never do that? Yeah, and Eric Holder and the DOJ are steadfastly committed to equally enforcing the law to ALL races (and cracking down on the NBPP and illegal immigrants...)
(Obozo’s already hinted at it in 2008 something to the effect of: “If we have to go to war, we ALL go”)
If the repeal doesn't go well, we all pay for it.
The old soap-on-a-rope that was common in my day had two great benefits (a) no reason to bend over in the shower (it looped over your wrist), and (b) it made a damn good weapon! They will prolly prohibit it now.
and dont forget the lawsuits!!
Some comfort.
Like having your investment advisor invest in Furbear trout and when confronted with it, he say” My Bad”. You lost all your cash, but at least the investment guy looks like a goof.
