U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, says she's willing to support the repeal of the military's ban on openly gay service members.
In a prepared statement, Snowe said that she will vote for a new stand-alone bill co-sponsored by U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, that would eliminate the "don't ask, don't tell" policy. The policy, enacted in 1993, keeps gay and lesbian servicemen and servicewomen from serving openly in the military.
(snip)
U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., who co-sponsored the repeal with Collins, indicated that Snowe's support would give the bill the 60 votes it needs to pass to avoid a Republican filibuster.

When was the last time that Maine had a conservative senator? I don’t remember recalling any during my time following politics.
Reliable traitors to their party and country.
Isn’t always reliably liberal Richard Lugar on record supporting this, too?
Somebody has to 'splain to them that these are guys
When was the time they even had a Republican Senator?
I propose his next campaign slogan should be, Lieberman...He's OK on the war on terror, but don't look for much else.
Liberalman
Has anyone ever shown Senator Collins how to vote, or does Snowe’s staff just do it for her?
Snowecollins: Two votes, one brain.
Can’t the Republican party excommunicate those two bitches?
Thy’re useless as .... on a boar hog
It is impossible for there to be a conservative Senator from Maine as long as two liberal RINOs hold the seats.
It's time to cleanse the part of these two witches even if it means Democrats win their seats.
the people in Maine crept back down over the border after being banished to Canada post Revolution—they still love the Monarchy truth be told
Well, I view this as a test of the leadership. Whoever votes for this should not be given any committee assignments. These people wouldn’t vote this way if the leadership held them to it and made them pay the penalty.
But these are the same leaders who refused to pull Murkowski from her committee position when she ran against the Republican candidate after losing the primary.
Have they learned anything at all?
Melt their phones.
Merry Christmas
Twovotes:nobrain
Gays are already in the military. Better to let them serve openly so one knows where they are - in the shower, sleeping next to you, etc.
They will probably stay in the closet anyway rather than face the scrutiny of their fellow servicemen.
I’m willing to bet that not many will openly admit they are gay.
Worthless scumbag traitors. They are on the same level as that Bradley Manning POS. None of them should see the light of day again. And so thoughtful of them, at Christmas-time, destroying one of the last remaining American institutions that actually worked, to push homosex. May they all burn in hell, where they belong.
I’ll have zero respect for anyone enlisting or re-enlisting after this degenerate transformation.
