President Obama and his wife Michelle will not be invited to Prince William's wedding next year. Because Prince William is not yet heir to the throne, his wedding to Kate Middleton is not classed as a ‘state occasion’ – and the couple feel under no pressure to fill the 2,000-strong guest list with heads of state, the Mail understands. They are more eager to ask ordinary citizens and charity workers than foreign dignitaries and VIPs to what will be the first royal ‘people’s wedding’, courtiers suggested. A handful of heads of state are likely to be invited in line with previous royal weddings, possibly including France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni.

Obama has told the Brits, “Screw you!”, so many different ways, I am not surprised.
Actually, it is a pseudo state occasion, as the British monarchy still plays the role of head of state for the United Kingdom. That said, Obama is easily the most anti-British POTUS in the last 100 years. Lord only knows what he would do.
Additionally, there must be the very real worry that Michelle will come dressed as a maxipad again, or worse Cinderella (complete with crystal slippers and a Disneyesque carriage). Have the Obamas ever done any event that wasn't 'about them'?
Considering Obama's been dumping on the Brits since he got into office then I wouldn't invite them either.
Highly doubtful that she would be invited. Of course, that might not stop her from attempting to invite herself.

Well, Grandmother got a stack of DVDs or CDs, I forget which, which won’t play on GB player. So I’m guessing that the gift wouldn’t be much from the Os. I just got a save the date card from the daughter of a business associate for whom I carry little love. I hardly know her. I think I’ll be out of town that week. Send her Bush’s new book. LOL

The real reason the Brits engaged in imperialism was the search for something decent to eat.

That wouldn’t be possible, really. They could invite someone or some people from the U.S., but they could hardly invite someone in government and ignore the Bamas, unless they had a significant personal relationship with that person.
It tickles me that the Obamas are not invited.

No, the British subjects are picking up the tab. The royals are supported by them. It amazes me how many post here are from people that will condemn people on the dole and turn right around and jump on the “free” food & booze at a celebrity wedding that doesn’t affect your life one iota.
I’m waiting on a parcel with the House of Windsor’s seal on it anyday now...
