Why is Washington D.C. so BLACK?..
Why are D.C. schools failing so badly?..
And with failing schools how can they be most educated?..
Something does not add up?..

...data released Tuesday that reflect five years of relative prosperity compared with the rest of the country.
And today we hear that the Congressional approval rating, taken by Gallup, is at an all-time low of 13%. It's just too bad that the "common people" can't appreciate what a tough job it is, sucking the life out of a country, working against the will of its people, while lining their pockets and voting themselves raises the whole time.

We need a constitutional amendment that forces the capitol of the United States to be moved every 4 years. The amendment should require the capitol to rotate to a new state every 4th year with the citizenry being allowed to vote on where the capitol will be located.
Personally, I would vote for the capitol to be moved to Death Valley the first time and then 4 years later to Barrow, Alaska.

The affluence is entirely due to your tax dollars. If the general public was fully aware of the nonsense that goes on in Washington, they would march on the city with torches and pitchforks.

That’s the problem, they do understand economics and have read the Constitution. They just don’t agree with what it says or how economics work.
They’re not ignorant, just evil.

“Most educated” probably means the most number of years in school, not intelligence.. Because it takes the typical inner city “student” 17 or 18 years to finish K-12, ergo, “most educated.”

So does this mean that Liberals , those in Washington, Democrats hold the most wealth in this country ?
If so ? what ever happen to " Spreading the wealth around " ?
Come on rich and wealthy liberals, Democrats, wealthy politicians, where is your charity ? are you not going help us poor folks out, from giving out of your own pockets ?
Since it is the DEMOCRATS who are in charge now, it seems to be the truth of the word that in Washington and the surrounding counties, that they have all the wealth, come on now, share the wealth.. that is ? from YOUR OWN pockets, and not " other people's wealth " ....
To: Poundstone
I expect the rest of the nation paid dearly to make that happen.

" The most affluent area, eh? Gee, what industry is Washington best known for that would bring about such wealth? "
Prostitution ? gambling with other people's money ? racketeering ?

Ben Franklin foresaw this problem. From the Constitutional Convention:
"Sir, there are two passions which have a powerful influence on the affairs of men. These are ambition and avarice; the love of power, and the love of money. Separately each of these has great force in prompting men to action; but when united in view of the same object, they have in many minds the most violent effects. Place before the eyes of such men, a post of honor that shall be at the same time a place of profit, and they will move heaven and earth to obtain it."
"The more the people are discontented with the oppression of taxes; the greater need the prince has of money to distribute among his partisans and pay the troops that are to suppress all resistance."
