Bill OReilly recently talked with frequent Fox News guest Charles Krauthammer to handicap potential GOP candidates chances in the 2012 presidential election. Krauthammer called Mitt Romney the front-runner and said Mike Huckabee has established himself as a major player but his most dissected comments will probably be his remarks on one Sarah Palin.
Krauthammer compared Palins problem to Hillary Clintons in the late 1990s strong support from her core base, virulent opposition from most others. OReilly asked if the level of opposition to Palin is the medias fault, and while Krauthammer said theyve contributed enormously and that the animus to her is unprecedented, he also allowed that she is not practiced in policy and that the infamous Katie Couric interview was not a gotcha interview. According to Krauthammer, Palins growth in mastering policy issues will shape her fate:
I think if you want to expand your base, you have to get into policy even though it sounds dull.

I like Palin and will gladly vote for her. I do NOT like Romney, not one bit.
That said, it’s a mistake to dismiss Krauthammer’s remarks, or any other criticism of Palin.
It’s important to hear what is being said, whether you agree with it or not.
Were she to take Krauthammer’s suggestions as constructive criticism and follow his advice, it can do her no harm.
If we’re going to get the right folks in the White House in 2012, it’s imperative to learn to listen.
Just damn.
And we all know that every American voter is on FR!
Charles Krauthammer Tells Bill OReilly Sarah Palin Must Expand Policy Knowledge
That would be true of anybody running for POTUS... our sitting POTUS didn't bother.
why are you not a Palin supporter ?
Krauthammer is a beltway boy. He likes the status quo. In my opinion he is a RINO!
I don’t think that I’ve ever heard her deliver a policy speech.
Good Hunting... from Varmint Al
What poll? The money poll.
Sadly, it matters.
have you read her facebook posts and editorials ?
John Bolton is unelectable because of his mustache. He looks like a clown. I’m serious.
O’Donnell was an embarrassment.
He was right.
I, for one, don’t want a “policy wonk” as POTUS. Algore was/is a policy wonk.
I want a leader that can fire people up, delegate duties, and have a simple, conservative agenda to get the country back off the socialist path.
Krauthammer is a snob. Most of the stuff he wrote on El Salvador was decent, at least it was anti-FMLN, but he was way too condescending regarding the Salvadoran Army and he gave them little credit for turning back communist momentum in 1980 when Carter was still president and US aid was even smaller than it was under Reagan.
This is the same thing with Palin. He is condescending but I trust Sarah’s policy instincts more than Krauthammer’s and certainly more than the other “frontrunners”. Plus Sarah has a record of producing a budget that balances.
Fossil to Krauthammer—
It is TIME to DownSize DC!!!!!!!!
I was talking about foreign policy. That’s all I mentioned.
Facebook is for teenagers to swap you tube links and dirty jokes, not a platform for a serious candidate to hold the most powerful position on earth! Geez!
Sarah Palin has never made a policy speech or outlined a proposal ever on the national level.
The money poll?
Tell you what, you cut off illegal contributions from overseas to Zero and then watch Sarah Palin raise more money than anyone in history—legally—in 2012.
All of Mitt’s money has never bought him any principles or moral authority.
Sarah does not need to buy either.
Charles Krauthammer?
Bill Clinton’s favorite FOX pundit...small wonder
same one who only gets conservative about Israel and taxes...a NeoCon like Barnes and the other FOXes
we’ve been there with the Neos so thanks anyhow...they are just same old shite social moderate GOP
pro-abortion and pro-gun control
another former New Republic writer
tell Marty Peretz hi for me Charlie as the door smacks yer noggin on the way out
Krauthammer is another sorta Conservative who gets raves here at times from folks who need to read up a bit more...put him in the same dustbin with Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Karl Rove, Mike Steele, David Brooks etc
