Forget about going quietly into the night.
Senate Democrats on Tuesday unveiled a broad agenda for an end-of-session sprint that, in other years, could be a whole year's worth of activity ranging from an arms-reduction treaty with Russia to a major immigration bill to overturning the ban on gay troops.
And that's not to mention the nearly 2,000-page, $1.1 trillion massive spending bill Senate Democrats said they'll try to push through. The bill contains hundreds of pork-barrel spending projects and new rules governing everything from airport baggage to detainees at the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
"We're not through. Congress ends on Jan. 4," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat.
The omnibus spending bill is likely to get the most attention, spanning 1,924 pages and spending an average of $575.13 million per page.
It stands in contrast to the House, which last week passed a streamlined bill freezing fiscal 2011 government spending at 2010's level. The Senate bill, though, boosts spending by $16 billion a tough sell at a time when deficits and debt already are dominating the policy debate in Washington.

We have to persevere. . a One Hundred Million Car Caravan to Washington D.C. would get their attention! Maybe arrive when the New Congress starts in January?
Dear Special Forces, the above mentioned enemies of We The People are located in the White House...they do not hide who they are, because they feel empowered and believe they can taste victory. Who is there to protect the Constitution, our laws and We The People against domestic attack from the enemy on our shores??
It may come to that. At the very least, come January we need to Reinstitute the House Committee on Un-American Activities We need to confront the communists in our government, including our current President.
“Kill the bill!”
I’ll say. Any bill which adds over $800 billion to the deficit doesn’t deserve to be passed. These “Bush” tax cuts had a ten year expiration date for one simple reason—they were going to bankrupt the country. Nothing has changed. They will still bankrupt the country.
B/S. It’s our money not the government’s. CUT THE FRICKIN SPENDING ALREADY!!

A reminder that we cannot be irresponsible children forever. Time to pass a constitutional amendment requiring a balanced budget.
Everybody wants all kinds of stuff so long as they can get it without paying for it.

This feels like a re-run of last Christmas...and the utter arrogance of reids belch..”We’re not done yet!”..I do so hate these people...and the ones they are working for.
Nope...won’t work...they haven’t listened so far...and they aren’t going to either. It’s all about their agendas to destroy our country...people are not important to them...So no amount of marching to Washington is going to do a dang thing...just another day to them.
Looks like Reid's gonna go down in flames, Arthur.
It's fixin' to be a nasty coupla weeks here ................... FRegards
By all means, Senator Reid - keep it in session until the next Congress is sworn in.
And we can all be happy that Senator Bennett will no longer be there come January.
It's obvious that they don't give a damn about regular Americans.
Instead of having an (R) at the end of a Congressman's name, he could have a (T).
Bennett, Bond and Voinovich are three GOP retiring senators. Showing true colors?
BTTT
I like Cyber Liberty’s name for old George, but how about a combo? RINOfab*tch?
What? It could be butch or botch, even batch.
Everyone had better call every Senator, particularly RATS from red states, and get your friends and family cranked up as well.
This is unbelievable.
A clean continuing resolution into 2011 is all the GOP should accept.
McCain is totally opposed to the omnibus, as well as any premature debate on the START treaty, DADT legislation, and so forth.
You are barking up the wrong tree on this one. McCain wants the lame duck to adjourn.
