We have not in our lifetimes seen a president in this position. He spent his first year losing the center, which elected him, and his second losing his base, which is supposed to provide his troops. There isn't much left to lose! Which may explain Tuesday's press conference.
President Obama was supposed to be announcing an important compromise, as he put it, on tax policy. Normally a president, having agreed with the opposition on something big, would go through certain expected motions. He would laud the specific virtues of the plan, show graciousness toward the negotiators on the other sidegraciousness implies that you wonand refer respectfully to potential critics as people who'll surely come around once they are fully exposed to the deep merits of the plan.
Instead Mr. Obama said, essentially, that he hates the deal he just agreed to, hates the people he made the deal with, and hates even more the people who'll criticize it. His statement was startling in the breadth of its animosity. Republicans are "hostage takers" who worship a "holy grail" of "tax cuts for the wealthy." "That seems to be their central economic doctrine."

I agree that he won’t finish his term, but I think it will be voluntary. I think he will announce that he is resigning to take a “promotion” to some international institution, probably the UN. I think that Obama actually believes that being president of the US is not enough for him, and he’s getting tired of it now.
He probably realizes that he has done about as much destruction as he can, and he also realizes that he is no longer the object of adulation, even by the press. So it’s time for him to move on.
I don’t think there’s a chance in the world that he would be involuntarily removed for any reason, no matter how grave; but I do think that he will simply decide that he’s done with this.
The difference between Carter and Obama though is that Obama is mentally ill whereas Carter was just an idiot.
I was in the coal business when Jimmah took the WH. I can’t tell you how pleased we were when he got kicked out.
He hasn’t lost the extreme Alinski Marxists.
Whatever hastens the collapse of the dollar and of the US is a good thing. This gives him cover to blame whatever happens on the Tea Party folk.
As for losing his base, it doesn’t matter. Where are else are they going to go?
Just as we would hold our noses and vote for a Rino if that’s all we had as an alternative to Obama, if all these Dems who are now bellyaching about Obama faced a choice between him and a conservative they would never vote for the conservative.
Not only is Obama incurring the wrath of his lefty base right now, but you got to believe that he is also taking incredible abuse and blows from Michelle. I am sure she has just about had it with him and does not let up for one minute.
I rarely listen to Hannity - waaay too many RINOs on i.e. Tokyo Rove, Newt, Lieberman, etc.
However, when he plays the clips of Ronaldus Magnus speaking, the words still ring true and is exactly what America desparately needs.
see my tagline....
Yeah, that image is kinda scary. Makes you almost feel sorry for the poor devil.
Note I said "almost".
