Fox has learned that Reps. Peter DeFazio (D-OR), Jim McDermott (D-WA) and Jay Inslee (D-WA) are crafting a letter to share with the House Democratic Caucus that would try to prevent the Speaker from bringing the tax bill to the floor.
They hope to get 60 signatures on their letter (which is still being drafted) and then force a vote in the caucus. DeFazio says he thinks that if a majority of House Democrats are against this compromise, they shouldn't bring it to the floor.

Well someone needs to tell that to Elana Kagan because during her confirmation hearings to the supreme court she basically said that congress has limitless powers given to it under the commerce clause, and that the court shouldn't second guess the will of the congress.

In the meantime, businesses and individual employers still don't know what their tax rates will be next year... If I was still in business, I'd want to know what taxes are gonna be in four or five years. I'd need something carved in stone about health care, too.
Uncertainty about this has lots of small businesses (the folks who really hire the most people) stopped dead in the water waiting for nobama and his czars and his thugs to make up their minds. Drives ya crazy.

Its all political theater to placate their base. Idiots play these silly games all the time. They know they march lock step to Der Fuherer. The Health Care debate proved everything we need to know, they are all transparent now. There is no such thing as a moderate Democrat, and the idea that any of them are in the least bit pro life is now laughable. If its not in the Communist Manifesto and they say they support it then its a dam LIE....

If we’re lucky, the lame duck Congress will be so mired in gridlock, it’ll get nothing passed.

You know, there are some things that can make you question the reaility of existence of God. And ask, is He real at all or maybe He is only an imaginary friend for adults to have and the world will only have chaos and hopelessness because God isnt there to guide us? That Pelosi is still Speaker is one of those things.

The “Democrats” all quoted in this article are straight up marxists and members of the marxist “Congressional Progressive Caucus”
The right needs to institute a policy of ZERO TOLERANCE FOR MARXISTS IN CONGRESS.
CPC members need to be hunted down like the degenerate communist animals they are and jailed for subversion and grand theft.
Letting these people walk around as if they are ordinary Americans is a serious mistake.

Yep. The more time they spend stalling on this the less damage they can do elsewhere.

Elena Kagan has no business being on the Supreme Court, but fortunately and for now, she is in the minority. Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution provides that Congress shall have power: "to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes". Notice that there is nothing about regulating regular commerce between individuals, and also know that even among supporters of a strong central government, this power was intended to imply control over treaties and trade agreements (for more: read Federalist #22). Otherwise, Congress would be able to exercise whatever influence it wanted, for whatever reason upon private transactions. No reasonable reading of the Constitution or of history would provide support for such an interpretation. Further, the 10th Amendment provides that "the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people".

That Pelosi is still Speaker is one of those things.I know what you mean. But God granted those who He created in His image free will, and sometimes we (all) do incredibly stupid things - and select stupid, dangerous, or ill-intentioned people to represent us. By returning to His word (the Bible, or in my tradition, the Torah) and by respecting His law (the Ten Commandments) we can begin to discover where we have gone off the path, and only by using the intelligent capacity we have been given can we make better choices.

my point is at least 4 conservatives would vote to uphold DADT for sure on purely conservative ideological grounds... and since we can count on at least one liberal (Kagan) to vote for it because she thinks congress have unlimited powers to do whatever it pleases, that makes 5, and 5 makes a majority.

Marxists (and communists, generally) have survived for 160 years in no small measure by having hidden their true identities and their intentions. They know that no free people will ever voluntarily agree to surrender their property and control of their lives to the State, so they hide behind artificial labels ("Progressive") and rationalizations ("equality" and "justice") to help validate and justify their cause. The end result is always the same, regardless: violence, destruction, and death.
Only when they think their moment has come around again do they ever admit to their true identity. The Communist Party of the United States has begun to run advertisements recently. What does that tell you about what is soon to come?

Nothing makes me question reality or the morality of God, because this isn't reality any more than an online game is. Heaven is reality, and everything that happens in this life just like in an online game is meaningless, except for the relationships we have with others and with God.
When you think of things that way you understand why God isn't to be thought poor of for “letting” bad things happen to people in this life.. because this isn't life it's sort of a game, a game where we are tested to see if we are worthy to spend our “real lives” in heavenly bliss.

There are four solid conservatives on the Court and one (Anthony Kennedy) who acts as a swing vote, but who has not shown a clear disposition to support radical initiatives that would overrule either legislative intent or majority rule in matters of social organization. Anyone who has served in the military in something other than a political role knows what would happen to the morale of our troops in the event of forced acceptance of homosexuality in the ranks. “Disaster” is not too strong a word. But then, we as a Republic ought never forget that elections do have consequences.

The devil hides his true identity until he has power and ready to use his power to control people.
That's why the devil has to deceive, because if people were to see what he truly is, and his true identity, then they would not follow him...
The devil does not like to be uncovered.
