Stay warm today.
Good morning, Arrowhead...((HUGS))...breakfast looks good on a chilly morning. Thank you and have a good day.
I’ll be on vacation for most of next two weeks. I have leave I need to take before the end of the year.
Good morning Kathy and (((HUGS))) to you. It’s been cool here too. I had frost on the windshield again today.
I'll second that...
Maybe not as a nation, but you should see all the wreaths and other 'memorials' left in the USS Arizona Memorial by Japanese citizens. It's a sobering sight.
This wreath was placed by visiting Japanese school-children. There were others out of the frame of this pic, as well as flowers and wreaths that had been tossed into the water around the Memorial.
((LOL))Yep, sure am.
Thanks Pa-Paw for all you did that day and throughout the war...What we see these days in Black and White...You saw it there in Color...
I know Granny just arrived, and hopefully you two are cutting a rug like you used too, smile on us and give us strength to keep on with the fight...
I hope I will always be worthy of yours and other sacrifices during that challenging time in your lives...
On September 1, 1923, Japan suffered a devastating earthquake that killed 143,000 people. In a matter of hours the United States sent a convoy of ships with medical supplies and more than ten million dollars in aid. The Emperor sent a famous five word cablegram to the White House: "America, we will never forget." Eighteen years later, on December 7, 1941, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, killing 2800 Americans. Japan forgot.....we will not.
((HUgS))Good afternoon, AZ. How’s it going?
Lucky you
although I do like spreading my leave out.
Enjoy
Howdy Ma
the transition back to work working out ok?
I'm getting ready to head down the road. Going by PO to check out a box for a book.
Howdy, Connie. I didn't know about the 1923 incident. Thanks.
Good afternoon Connie and (((HUGS))) to you.
Thanks for that history lesson.
I kept telling myself to spread my leave out every year, but here it is Dec 7th, and I have almost 100 hours of leave to use.
I remember the Japanese attack on Pearl harbor on Dec 7 1941...I was eleven years old.
Thanks Kathy!

I am so glad you brought that to my attention. Thank you, Jinxy! It’s good to know that they have respect for our loss.
