WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says FIFA made the "wrong decision" in awarding the 2022 World Cup to Qatar over the United States.
The U.S. Soccer Federation spent millions of dollars on its bid. Former President Bill Clinton was highly involved in the process and participated in the closing presentation.

It’s so confusing....I thought Muslim culture is far superior to ours, so obviously, that makes them better athletes, making Qatar the most deserving. Go Qatar!!!

By "spent" one wonders (just wondering, no proof) could this mean there were some bribes gone bad?; and was the presence of Wm Blythe a mere gratuity, just for show?

You really need to grow up. Just because you do not understand soccer doesn't make it exceedingly boring. I'm someone who grew up here with baseball. I was there when Mays made The Catch. I was there when the Mets won their first World Series. I saw Lew Burdette pitch a no-hitter. But the bottom line is that baseball is usually a pretty dull game. In fact most games are real snoozers. And soccer is too, if all you care about are goals. But all those people in the third-world, like in Germany and in Italy, know that it is about the fact that most games can change with what happens in the next 15 seconds, at least until there is a two goal differential. When played at a high level it is almost always a beautiful game.
