A group called the American Atheists has paid for a huge billboard on Route 495 outside the Lincoln Tunnel in North Bergen, N.J., that is raising some eyebrows.

The billboard shows a silhouette of the Three Wise Men approaching the Nativity, with the words: "You KNOW it's a Myth / This Season, Celebrate REASON!"

"EyeGuy says start with the awesome marvel of miraculously complex design and engineering known as the human eye. A “reasonable” person won’t need to go any further......"

But the human eye is subject to all kinds of diseases. It is not perfect. So if the design of the human eye is supposed to prove that there was an intelligent creator, then why is it so liable to disease, injury and degeneration? What is so intelligent in the design about anything created? In case you have not noticed, the universe is always trying to kill us. From comets smashing into the earth, to tiny microbes that kill milions in plagues, to tidal waves, hurricanes, evil psychopaths, birth defects, not to mention wars and famine and drought, we are always in fear of our lives as if we were no more important than flies. What is so intelligent about such a design?

"Who does an Athiest *thank* when something good happens to them?"

Who does a beliver thank when something bad happens to them? Because I find it very wierd that someone will say, "Well I was in a car accident and I am now a quadriplegic, but I thank God that I am still alive." Oh really? So God saved your life but allowed you to be paralized and you thank him for that? I would have appreciated it much more if God had not allowed me to be in a car wreck in the first place.

I thank God AND the Doctors when I’ve needed them. This may be hard for you to believe, but there are a lot of us who believe in both.

What exactly are these idiots attempting to disprove? That Christ’s message does not exist?

It’s not a “myth” that Christ was born in Hawaii.

I’m afraid its imperially True that Islam is an Abrahamic Faith.

That said, “They” do not have a collective share of Fruit. There isn’t even a Single Religion called Islam. One thing people who claim to be able to prove its not the same God always do is to act as if all Muslims have exactly the same beliefs. EG, Sharia is all the same for all Muslims. This is easy to disprove just by looking hat how different Jordan is to Iran, yet both operate under Sharia.

That said, there are Muslims in the world who do a lot of good, as well as those who do evil.

The real question is, what does Islam itself focus on. Like Mormonism, Islam focuses on God, and its clearly the same God as Christians and Jews worship, just as Mormons follow the same Jesus.

Where they go astray is in what exactly is taught about God.

In logic, one cannot absolutely prove a negative. Best example, prove: “There is no gold in Alaska.” Can’t be done, as one molecule would be only proof needed (after digging up the whole state..., and really only an all-knowing being could prove a negative.

Therefore, atheism itself is illogical, and a HUGE leap of faith. Agnosticism, I can understand, as it’s honest: “I don’t know if there is a God.” However, practically every agnostic I’ve known is just really an atheist at heart—lives like one, and very typically isn’t seeking to find out if there is a God or not.

The raging, “evangelical” atheist to me is yet another proof that there is a God, as if God is just an imaginary “spaghetti monster” on the level with Santa and his elves, why would you go to any trouble or effort at all to disprove that?

Besides that, they know you can’t prove a negative....so to me, it shows that the raging Richard Dawkins-style atheist, has a serious axe to grind, and is bound and determined to prove (to themselves) or really insist there’s no God....an insistence borne of fear (and surely, hatred).

It’s C. S. Lewis’s wish-fulfillment atheism description (where he stood a typical Freudian “God as wish fulfillment” on its head_: All things being equal, people have a lot more to gain (so they think) by inventing the idea of no God (and so no eternal accountability) than by making up in wish-fulfillment One before Whom we all must one day stand.

The God of Christianity is, and always has been, a holy Trinity, one in substance or being, yet also in three interdependent persons.

Islam strongly condemns that, as does (post-Jesus) Judaism, therefore, by definition, since neither Islam or even Judaism have a trinitarian God, we do not worship the same God.

Mormonism too, denies the holy Trinity (by redefining God, as Gods....in succession, true polytheism) hence their “Jesus” is not the incarnation of the 2nd Person of the Trinity of Christianity, Who created all that is—or ever has been.

Do all these theisms (not all mono-theisms, since Mormonism isn’t) CLAIM to worship the God revealed in the bible? Sure....but since only Christians believe in the holy Trinity, by definition we worship a different God.

“If you deny the trinity you lose your soul, if your try to explain the trinity you shall lose your mind”- Augustine

As I said, it’s the same God, but a different Theology. While I am a Trinitarian myself, I do no think that rejection of the Trinity means it’s a totally different god. It just means it’s a different Theology about God.

Why do you believe that to be so? What is the logic behind such a presumption?

Ah, the problem of pain. It’s the most common question from Atheists.

Why does God allow birth defects, hurricanes, earthquakes, disease, conflict, etc.?

Our job here on Earth, IMO, is to strive for an eternal home in Heaven, where we will live free of pain and sickness, not to question God’s way.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Yup. They are an angry bunch.

My word, if they don’t believe in God, why are they always trying to bash faith?

Angry, angry, angry.

I’m afraid its imperially True that Islam is an Abrahamic Faith.

I don't mean to tease, but what emperor says so?;-)

Do you mean that your assumption is "widely" accepted? If so, why do you assume wide acceptance means that it is indeed true? And where did such an idea come from, eh?

Abrahamic faith means nothing more than the notion that Islam "mentions" it is somehow traceable back to Abraham...that does hold much significance anyway and NONE at all if the "prophet" and "his" god are lying.

BTW, this idea that Islam is an Abrahamic faith is pushed primarily by muslims...and it is done so to first subsume the True Abrahamic faith and secondly it is done to garner credibility among those in the world who do not recognize it (Islam) for the demonic faith it truly is (again "know them by their fruits" - Matthew 7:16).

You said...

I always had a problem with people who insist that Islam worships a different god as most of the arguments are silly.
First, it isn't about you and "silly" doesn't explain why you disagree with the "different god" idea. In fact, the term "silly" says more about you. It says you stand in judgment of your debating opponent but rather than respond with reason, you condescend to call him "silly."

Secondly, muslims will tell you in no uncertain terms that their Allah is not Jehovah, God of the Christians and Jews.

Now, as to "false prophets"...they are not nice but misguided leaders! False prophets are agents of a false god...and anti-God, anti-Christ!

"False prophets" are mentioned 7 times in the New Testament (not at all in the Old). In each case they are anti-God, attempting to draw people away from God and into Hell.

The question is "who" do you believe they are leading people to? And whose voice are they listening to?

Mohammed himself first thought the voice he heard in the cave when he received the prophecy was a "demon." It wasn't until he told his wife that he was hearing demons and going mad that she, Khadijah, convinced him he was hearing the voice of Gabriel.

Lastly, let me point out strongly that God loves muslims and Jesus/Yeshuah offers them Salvation if they will accept It and Him.

But make no mistake about it, Allah and his prophet, Mohammed, are completely oppose to God, Jehovah, and His Son, Yeshuah/Jesus.

Get to know some muslims. Yes, they are not bad people and some do much good (the True God loves them)...but to the extent they follow their religion and its god, Allah, they are following a force that is diametrically opposed to the Judeo/Christian God.

Sadly, there is a place where they’ll go — and it won’t be pretty.

I listen to Ravi Zacharias’ show, “Let My People Think”, on a Christian radio station (BBN). One series was on atheism and is the best I’ve ever heard. He has a list of “Six Questions To Ask an Atheist” on his website. Excellent.

BTW, if someone is an atheist, or a Satanist, or a Muslim... fine. It’s America. Be whatever God-forsaken religion you want; I’ll even drive you to your meetings. But when it comes to MY religion and My beliefs, just STFU and let me worship freely as you should be able to worship freely.
