John Bolton, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, announced today he is considering a bid for U.S. president in 2012.
It was his first direct response to months of Internet speculation that he may join the next presidential race.
Bolton was speaking to WND senior reporter Aaron Klein on the latter's investigative radio show on WABC in New York.
"Yes, I am considering it," Bolton said when asked if he is considering a 2012 presidential run. "I am very concerned about the direction of national security policy."
Continued Bolton: "I am concerned that we hardly talk about it at national level debates in the mainstream media. The president, as they say, just seems to view national security issues as an irritation, as a distraction from what his real priorities are."

Why is Palin not presidential timber? Is is her legislative record as governor?
To: Chickensoup
she would be great at dismantling the Blob, the department of education. Can you provide a link to any example of her wanting to do this?

Could you please elaborate on anything that backs up your assertion that Bolton is an “arrogant, pompous blow hard”?

Looks like there are a few here that peg him for Secretary of State.

A Palin/Bolton ticket, will mop the floor with ALL challengers. They will walk into the oval office with ease. Say goodnight Liberinos, your day is over.

I’d love Bolton as POTUS, but let’s face it, this country will never vote for him.

I like what I’ve seen from Bolton on foreign policy and the Second Amendment.
But there doesn’t seem to be a scrap of information on where he stands on much of anything else.
Which doesn’t bode well. Silence is a form of assent.

Look at Bush when he took on Reagan in 1980. Reagan then chose him after first considering President Ford. Bush gladly accepted after he went after Reagan viciously during the primaries.Retired Intel and you didn't know Reagan didn't "choose" GH Bush? Didn't know Rockefeller chose GH for Reagan?
The Bluebloods, GOP Country Clubbers, Banking Elites, and Globalists were patient and got their man after all, and we got a "New World Order."
To: Retired Intelligence Officer
palin/bolton would be awesome— cause sarah needs someone on the ticket with foreign policy experience—

Id love Bolton as POTUS, but lets face it, this country will never vote for him.He looks adorable...until you realize he'll be one more globalist puppet with CFR strings.

Bolton was our full Ambassador to the UN, and held higher rank than Keyes.
If Bolton is a serious candidate, he needs to take the current administration on and get some media attention.
Lacking that attention, he’ll wind up on the Bob Barr, Alan Keyes tier of candidates.
To: Retired Intelligence Officer
WND is a bit behind the times. Bolton’s said he’s thinking about it for several weeks.

Well, I doubt seriously that Bolton would take the back seat. I think he would consider himself more qualified than Palin and would want to be the one in charge.

(Sarah Palin) would be great at dismantling the Blob, the department of education I don't think Sarah Palin could get confirmed as Secretary of Education, I don't care who is running the Senate.
Interior Department, maybe. But not Education.

Any Ambassador Bolton inner circle folks, please freepmail me privately with contacts to you and your office; if this goes forward I have some various helpful ideas and resources.
If you are a long time Freeper, you will know what I am about on this forum, particularly with respect to Wider Asia. Bolton is the real deal; this is a very, very interesting development.

Bolton is my choice. A true conservative. Knows all the problems and shortcomings in the State Department and the world for that matter. He is NOT a Statist!
