A billboard boasting atheism is scheduled to stay up near the Lincoln Tunnel on the New Jersey side, until at least after the Christmas season, as part of a campaign to reach out to atheists and encourage questioning certain holiday traditions, according to a report by NorthJersey.com.

The message will read, "You KNOW it's a myth. This season, celebrate reason," with a silhouette background of the three wise men walking toward a manger.

The campaign is sponsored by the American Atheists, said the report.

Well admittedly, the notion of wise men in and around NYC may very well be a myth.

I think I’ll add them to my Christmas card list. The ACLU went on a couple of years ago and they seem to get a lot out of it.

This is what I’d call strawman arguing on the part of the atheists. By the time the Wise Guys showed up, Jesus wasn’t in a manger any more. He was in a “house.”

I don’t know about the rest of America, but it’s going to take a lot more than an atheist and a billboard to break my faith.

The Bed-wetting Haters are out there whining and putting up their signs again. Must be the Christmas season. I guess it’s time to say Merry Christmas!

It is okay to mock Christianity. I dare the “reason” group to put up a similar billboard mocking Islamic holidays.

If anything, billboards like that turn people away from atheism.

if they targeted Islam, it would be labeled HATE speech and the “perps” would be arrested.

I’m praying for these misguided souls. May God have mercy on them & may the Holy Spirit lift the veil of ignorance that clouds their hearts.

What strikes me as funny about some of these folks is that they actually think their ideas are new. It’s as if they think they’ve invented something in atheism.

Because of it’s design, it is a good ad for Christmas. I think their graphics designers got the best of them. They took their loot and their message and left them with nothing.

Think you’d be hard pressed to find 3 wise men in NYC.

They really hate historical truth. It scares them so much.

I have to feel sorry for them, it is extremely hard to get out of bed to a meaningless life. You are a cosmic accident and in the grand scheme of things it matters not if you are a murderer or a life-saving doctor. Everybody dies sometime and there’s nothing after that. Eventually the sun will suck up the earth and explode and no trace of us will be left. Morality is just whatever you prefer. Nobody’s good and nobody’s bad. Right and wrong are totally arbitrary and it matters not if we do things that hurt or kill others, as the creators of our own futile destiny we can rationalize whatever we do as acceptible and necessary at the moment. It matters not what we do because life is ultimately pointless, and definitely an accident that the universe will one day correct and wipe out by a supernova.

That’s the worldview of the atheist.
