Sen. John McCain helped catapult former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to the national stage and now he's equating her to former President Ronald Reagan.
He made the comparison Sunday when asked if Palin is "divisive."
"I think anybody that has the visibility that Sarah has is obviously going to have some divisiveness," McCain said on CNN's "State of the Union." "I remember that a guy named Ronald Reagan used to be viewed by some as divisive."
The former Republican presidential nominee called Palin "an incredible force in the American political arena" and said she's "keeping her options open."

To me it seems that Sarah Palin is by far the best candidate we have going in to 2012. Her positions on many issues are near flawless, and it seems many forget that absolutely the most important thing for a President are the policy positions.
Her intellect is more than up to the challenge, IMO, and when you add her character, integrity, honesty and leadership she is a stunning candidate.
Too bad she threatens the status quo... ;-)
“The drive-by media’s characterization of Sarah as “stupid” sure seems to have taken hold”
Only amongst the angry hate-filled leftists.
Oh yes, and RR was considered “so stupid” and I will never forget the media because they fooled me into not voting for Reagan. I did not follow politics at all then, and was voting, but didn’t know the subversive Marxist views in all the media. I believed the MSM which made me a fool and their useful idiot. I thank God I finally woke up to reality!
NICE.......
He must have read my post from last week, when all the DNC Talking Points/SRM blather is constantly parroting "too polarizing to get elected in 2012", as were all the PDS'ers on FR.
She is only "divisive" and "polarizing" to those that want the government to provide for their every want, at the expense of TAXPAYERS, INCLUDING Illegals.
Yep, however her greatest impression given is that there are more important aspects to her life than the Washington beltway, IMO.
She's a human not driven by political affairs as a #1 focus in life.
She is and WILL be a strong factor in our politics as a nation in the years to come.
“Even McLame has moments of clarity once in a blue moon.”
I suspect that in McCain’s case, he probably intended his comparison of Palin to Reagan as a slam against her.
I have confidence that she'll be able to change this. The reality is that the media have no clue what ‘smart’ is. To them ‘smart’ is determined by one’s adherence to the lemming-like shared ideology and beliefs of liberalism, by where one went to school, and by one’s ‘chic’ factor. In the meantime, as a group they tend to hold ridiculous, indefensible, and non-fact based positions. Even the concept of ‘being smart’ because one attended an Ivy, or the like, is a joke. It would be very helpful in formulating a more informed and functional government at this point to exclude anyone from the Ivy schools from elected positions for at least the next 8 years.
Come on! If nothing else, the last 22 months has proven Obama is more divisive then Reagan and Palin combined!
Just let Palin be Palin.
I hereby reject the ever-pandering McCain’s crumb and lame attempt at scoring points with Tea Party conservatives.
The show is awesome.
This is one feisty woman. Loved watching them shoot trap last Sun.....
Now, if he could just shut up his stupid daughter.
Im so sorry, but I would so hit that
