Napolitano said she hoped the U.S. could get to a place in the future where Americans would not have to be as guarded against terrorist attacks as they are and that she was actively promoting research into the psychology of how a terrorist becomes radicalized.
The long-term [question] is, how do we get out of this having to have an ever-increasing security apparatus because of terrorists and a terrorist attack? she said. I think having a better understanding of what causes someone to become a terrorist will be helpful."
DHS and intelligence officials are not as far along in understanding that process as they would like, Napolitano said, adding that until that goal is reached, steps need to be put in place to ensure the publics safety.
We dont know much, she said. If you were to try and devise a template about what connects this terrorist to this terrorist and how they were raised and what schools they went to and their socioeconomic status, or this or that, its all over the map.

Here Are Four Questions The New Congress Should Seek Answers For From TSA
In an article written by Mona Charem of the National Review entitled “Look For Terrorists Not Weapons “ insisting we should follow Israel’s example. She cited a crop of terrorists found in other countries. using security screening techniques by Israel and others .not the bizzare draconian techniques being used by US and ourTSA.
While not asserted in her article www.nationalreview.com/articles/253746/look-terrorists-not-weapons-mona-charen the question is;
Is TSA is using hyperbole in offering a rationale so Joe Sixpac and family accept and submit to bizzare draconian procedures which has not produced one valid identifiable threat. But is busy creating a huge unmanageable governmental bureacracy (like the EPA) members of which might owe their alligience to the socialists running the government at the expence of Joe Sixpac family’s, family’s, family ?
1st Question
The recent crop of terrorists cited by the article were found in other countries outside the system being used in the US by TSA. What are they doing that is different ?
2nd..Those Xray scanners...(3 parts).
2a.. Do they represent a health issue of radiation dosage to those that use them ?
2b..Can they determine the passenger theyre examinining has plastic type explosives hidden in sundry places including body cavities ? Or discovering the explosive being woven as fabric is covering those body parts?
2c...If yes to the 1st question, and no to the second, then why are they being used?
3rd Question.... The Hand Body Cavity (pat down) Investigation.. Will that procedure which is intrusive discover material which may be explosive fabric (which could be discovered by a wand) ?
4th....TSA Organization (6 parts)
4a....How many employees does TSA have ?...
4b...How does TSA allocate the number of employees to a given airport terminal ?
4c...What are their duties and their salaries ?
4d.. At the federal complex outside Washington DC how many employees does TSA employ and please break down their duties and salaries ?
4e...How many detentions of passengers have resulted in a successful arrest and prosecution of a terrorist ?
4f... All this agency seems to be doing is keeping up appearances... Why is it needed ?
Hint to the clueless: You are no longer "free" in America. You stood by applauding (or at least silent) when others' rights were being eroded. Now it's your turn to stand in the dock.
Who's gonna cry for you and poor Mrs. Eagle? Those who went before? It was okay to crap on them then... (Yah, she did not deserve this but let's be real, it's only the next step in what a lot of folks, including FReepers, have been supporting for a long time. "Freedom for me but not for thee." A fundamentally flawed philosophy that never fails to bite its adherents.)
America -- a great idea, didn't last.
And please continue to distract yourself from the reality around you by playing with your toys. Best you stay home with them.
Oh well, the NYT wrote last week that Maj. Hassan, the Ft. Hood jihadist traitor’s “motive is a mystery”.
Of course these are the same people who have been working to force us out of our cars and onto public transit for the last 40 years. Especially your evil SUV.
You obviously understood what I was referring to!
IMHO...the manufacturer is being paid PER IMAGE
We feel no hesitation in confining these expressions to those privileges and immunities which are, in their nature, fundamental; which belong, of right, to the citizens of all free governments; and which have, at all times, been enjoyed by the citizens of the several states which compose this Union, from the time of their becoming free, independent, and sovereign;

The right of a citizen of one state to pass through, or to reside in any other state, for purposes of trade, agriculture, professional pursuits, or otherwise;

The Constitution does not enumerate every right the people have, it enumerates only the powers that the Feds have, and by bill of rights, reserves the rest to the states, or respectively to the people. All the numerous powers not granted to the Feds in the Constitution but now asserted by the Feds, has been illegally usurped by a power hungry, corrupt group of men and women who should be hung by the neck until dead, justice by the people, for these usurpers notorious and continuing treason against the US Constitution and her people.
Batty.
“Reno. Napolitano. Where do Democrats find these women? “
Wherever butch lesbians congregate! In WWII Germany they would have been matrons at women’s concentration camps. Now does everyone see what the unfortunate people of Arizona had to put up with?!
Actually, the exact literal translation of Die Staatssicherheitsdienst is a bit less dramatic — the State Security Service — however, in this case, Department of Homeland Security is more than appropriate.
“Homeland” and “State” are the same thing, in context.
And, “State Security Service” would be a transliteration, not a translation.
I was waiting for someone to bring that up - but my translation is correct.
;)
Neal: [frowns] Where's your other hand?
Del: Between two pillows...
Neal: Those aren't pillows!
You know what? They try to do this in DC for the metro, and someone is going to get killed.
I was there trying to find my way around the metro line and and made the mistake of trying to do it during rush hour and barely got away with my life. You get in between the crowd and the train, and you're taking your life in your hands. They'll run you over to not miss the train.
I was reading something online from a pastor the other day and he was talking about fear and made a very interesting comment.
He said that security is an illusion.
And you know, thinking about that.... he’s right.
There are already checkpoints on roads- for drunk drivers. I look at the local stats. It seems they stop 100 drivers to catch one drunk. Seems kind of the opposite of what America is supposed to be. Now, everyone is so scared of everything, they want complete safety, and total govt control. They say driving is a “privilege.” They say flying is a privilege too. Was riding a horse a privilege 200 years ago? Is travel a privilege?
The ACLU is flat on their ass as usual.
Do they expect daily commuters to expose themselves to radiation twice a day on a daily basis? WTF?
