Once upon a time there was widespread concern that Americas late-night TV comedians, who fuel and reflect so much of popular cultures chatter, would shy away from making fun of the Smoker-in-Chief because, well, you know.
As someone who collects these passing smiles, we can report that is not the case. Here are a few recent offerings:
Letterman: Vice President Joe Bidens birthday party was over the weekend. President Obama was so excited he asked Biden to attend in his place.
Leno: Happy Birthday to Joe Biden. President Obama got him a gag gift. No, not a funny gift. A real gag.
Conan: President Obama scheduled to grant a turkey the traditional pardon on Wednesday. But a spokesman for the turkey now says it doesnt need a pardon. It needs a job.
Fallon: What is going on these days? George W. Bush writes a 500-page memoir and Obama publishes a kids coloring book.
Leno: Tough decision for President Obama this week: Pardon the turkey or Democrat Rep. Charlie Rangel

Why did I not catch that? Awesome.
“Maybe these shows will have higher ratings...”
...precisely. They all have their own personal agenda and, as is always the case with elitists, think they’re really “clicking with the masses” when cutting on Bush, praising Obama and railing on conservatives. I’d say that maybe they’ll wake up, but I don’t think so. They’ll go back to their liberal ways in no time!
Letterman: Vice President Joe Bidens birthday party was over the weekend. President Obama got him a gag gift. No, not a funny gift. A real gag.

Leno's joke about the gag for Biden is also a joke about Biden's propensity to say stupid things.
Conan's joke is more about the state of the economy than about zero.
Fallon's joke is the only one that remotely targeted zero, and it did a pretty good job of turning upside down the whole "Bush is a dunce while Obama is a scholar" meme of the media.
Leno's turkey pardon joke is a joke making fun of Rangel, not zero.
"You shouldn't take away the President's teleprompter
before a Press Conference. I took away the teleprompter once....
Once!!"
We the people told him to stuff it.
That would be a 31 page coloring book.
Danny Vermin: You shouldn’t hang me on a hook, Johnny. My father hung me on a hook once. Once!
On Leno(paraphrased): “Did you hear that a small private plane entered the no fly zone above the White House?
Yeah, staffers were scrambling, telling everyone to “Get out!”, “Get out!”.
Hearing that, Obama remarked, “Is it 2012 already?”
So Obama walks into a bar which is funny because you’d think even he would be smart enough to know you need to use the door.
So, next, he asks Harry Reid for his ID. And Harry says, "I'm LDS. I don't drink. Just give me a near beer."
So, last, he asks Obama for his ID, and Obama says, "Come on, I'm the President of the United States, and the Democrat Party vouched for me in all fifty states to get on the ballot." And the bartender looked at him and said, "Get out of here, bub. What do you think I am, a Republican member of Congress?"
Is he still around? Is he on a public channel now?
Joe Biden walks into a bar and wakes up in the hospital with a concussion.
Or a 57 page USA States coloring book, with one page per state.
