What Did It All Mean? (McCain says Tea Party midterm victories "revolt" and "not a revolution")
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 2010-11-22 | Alan Murray

Posted on 11/21/2010 5:02:19 PM PST by rabscuttle385

(snip)

ALAN MURRAY: Sen. McCain, I wonder if you could tell us, from where you sit, what the message of this election in the United States is.

JOHN MCCAIN: It was a revolt. It was not a revolution. Revolutions take a long time. It was revolt on the part of the American people who believe that their government has lost touch with them and they have lost touch with their government.

And any Republican who thinks that it was a vote in favor of Republicans should look at our approval ratings. Last time I checked, it's around 17%. When you get down that low, it's blood relatives and paid staffers.

I predict that unless Republicans act in response to the American people, they will reject Republicans. And they have every reason to be skeptical because when we were in charge, we let spending get out of control. We engaged in the earmarking and pork-barreling, which is corruption. So if the Republicans use their power in the fashion, frankly, that we did when previously we were in the majority, then I think you will see the emergence of a third party.

Hey McCainiac, we get it, you're a liberal Democrat.

You don't need to keep repeating yourself.

“It was not a revolution. Revolutions take a long time.”

Perhaps he hasn’t been paying attention.

Someone tell me - what exactly about McCain makes him a Republican other than the ‘R’ next to his name.

The proof that it is a revolution, not a revolt, is that I and everyone I know who was involved are just a p!ssed today as we were in the months leading up to the election.

Nothing has changed, including McCain’s blithering.

Viva la revolucion!!

It is a hard thing for some people to face, that they have been played for decades of years, and for thousands of dollars.

Some never will, and will wear the livery to their graves, as stubborn and willfully obtuse as any yellow dog Democrats.

I AGREE with him on this part.

He went on the Asian junket with his friend, Barry. Didn’t see where any other R’s were invited.

(Detroit) Lions play. They lose. Check.
McCain lurches to the right in his primary and wins. Check.
McCain wins the general and reverts back to his conservative bashing ways. Check.

Ok, the cosmos remains in balance...

Hey Juan, you and your piggish daughter Meghan can shut up any time now. If the people in America want to hear you talk we will call you. Until than keep a low profile and really truly STFU, tell that to your pigdog daughter too. If we want a RINO to speak, it will be only on a limited basis. Thanks maybe for your service, but you are no longer a mediocre pilot that could not fly right to save your own soul, you are a misfit and a malcontent.

I find it peculiar how the decadent atheistic policies are hardly ever mentioned in the discussions with John McCain, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and other similar so-called Republicans when they discuss the symptoms of atheism (althewhile they never call these symptoms by their true name) this nation and indeed the world are experiencing and enduring right now. It is as if they are in denial. Or could it be their intended deception? Until we all can admit the truth, we will never overcome our sinfulness and we should not let our sinfulness make or break policy in our nation. Vote the wishy-washy Charlie Brown secularists out and the sooner the better!

From what I read here, for all of his faults, he gets it.

You seem to really be heavily invested in failure.

This would be akin to me giving a soliloquy on eating right and excercising.

I somewhat agree with Juan (as sickening as that is.) A revolution would have put "R's" in charge of both houses, and with a LOT more conservatives.

It was a revolt.

It was also the beginning of a revolution.

And John can’t grasp that his inability to recognized the later, is simply one more thing that reaches the level of revolting as it applies to his persona.

"It was Sarah supporters."

You're right. Sarah Palin endorsing him and stumping for him helped John McCain immensely with this last election.

JD had his own problems with primary voters, but Sarah endorsing McCain put the nails in JD's political coffin.
