When I went to the airport today, I was put in the uncomfortable position of a so-called “naked” full-body scan. Today’s experience was very different from the last flight I made, nearly two weeks ago; at that time I only had to go through a magnetometer. Today there was no option — it was either the full-body scan, a humiliating pat-down or no flight. All passengers flying out of Washington, DC were subjected to the new procedures. So, like confused cattle, our uneasy line of air travelers was herded through the machine.
But my experience today was nothing compared to that of Thomas D. “Tom” Sawyer, a 61-year-old retired special education teacher from Lansing, Michigan. Sawyer was reportedly on his way to a wedding in Orlando when his medical condition caught the special attention of security.
As a survivor of bladder cancer, Sawyer wears his pants two sizes to large to accommodate medical equipment he must now wear. “I have to wear special clothes and in order to mount the [urostomy] bag I have to seal a wafer to my stomach and then attach the bag. If the seal is broken, urine can leak all over my body and clothes,” he recounted to MSNBC.
On Nov. 7, Sawyer said he went through the security checkpoint at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. “Evidently the scanner picked up on my urostomy bag, because I was chosen for a pat-down procedure,” he said. Because of his medical condition, Sawyer says he asked to be screened in private. “One officer looked at another, rolled his eyes and said that they really didn’t have any place to take me,” said Sawyer. “After I said again that I’d like privacy, they took me to an office.”

This is just heartbreaking. How much more do decent people have to endure to satisfy the political correctness (and stupidity) of this Administration?

This hits home. I am a bladder cancer patient. If TSA did this to me there is no doubt I would end up pissing on them. An accident, you know.

Your observation is dead-on. obama can state the recent elections were a result of his failure to communicate effectively to the minions in this country who are intellectually bankrupt when compared to our president./sar/
The truth is, obama doesn't care if citizens of our nation despise his socialist healthcare plan; his blatant effort to make our nation reliant on foreign oil etc. I honestly believe the intent is to create unrest so he can declare marshall law. Only then will the left have the power they truly seek.

Yesterday I noticed the same thing on DU. Posters are very angry about the groping. FR and DU agreeing on something. Amazing.
One way to help between now and 2012 is to get yourself qualified to register people to vote. (There are rules in your state or county, etc.) Then try to get to every Tea Party or other event that is likely to draw conservatives and start registering people to vote!!!

You folks just don't get it!! Here's the problem: Since the first 3 planes hit their targets on 9/11, Team Jihad has had the dilemma of being thwarted by passengers at every turn (Flight 93, shoe bomber, underwear bomber, etc). This new policy is an effort to "even the playing field". You see, we have to make sure those 'infidels' has nothing to defend against the next attack, and so humiliated they won't get out of their seat. The new policy also saves millions by eliminating the need for all those air marshals; which were supposed to be our last line of defense, but never quite materialized into reality. Makes sense, doesn't it? Now, let's look at the big picture: There is no need to speculate on the latest conspiracy theory on the grand plans of government. Think of this issue as a Godsend that has been dropped in our laps. Has it dawned on anyone that this matter is clearly NON-PARTISAN? And do a little web surfing and see what they are saying about us overseas. You think foreigners (other than Team Jihad) wants to get on a flight to the U.S. these days? You probably won't see any poll numbers anytime soon. I'd say the needle is pegging on our side. Our failure would be to think of this as other example of the government taking our rights away. They have 'jumped the shark', if you will. It is now up to the American people. If we do not put a stop to this (by whatever means it takes), then we get whatever kind of government we deserve. I support National Opt-Out Day. But I say let's not stop there: Perhaps it's time for massive protests in the airports of major cities in this country. And I'm not talking about outside, either. How about near the ticket counters? right near the Teams of Sexual Assaulters? It's time for action, people. WE are the last line of defense in our airplanes, to our dignity, and our freedom.

You never take a mothers baby away from her, it’s against everything we stand for (I thought).
I copied and paste some of this poor mothers story, it needs to be told.
“He then told me, “I’m going to have to pick him up to inspect him.”
I rolled my eyes and sternly told him “It’s his pacifier clip that went off, can’t you just run that back through the belt and let us go. We are going to miss our flight.”
The female TSA agent, who had been standing there the entire time said to me, “You need to adjust your attitude and do as you are told.”
The male TSA agent repeated, “I’m going to have to pick him up to inspect him.”
I handed him my son.
I handed him my son and he walked away with my child.
My eyes welled up with tears, I stood up from my chair and I asked the female TSA agent, “Where is he going? Where is he taking my child? Why is he leaving?”
Jackson, while being whisked away looked at the male TSA agent awkwardly and repeated “no no no no.”
I started crying.
The female TSA agent did not answer me.
Panic set in. My hands began to shake. My body was sweating. My breath was short and my heart was racing.
They had taken my child and not told me.
Jackson was out of my eye sight.
I could not see my son.
Now sobbing, I repeated my questions to the female TSA agent.
She told me “Ma’am, we’re trying to be nice to you. We don’t know which one of you went off in the metal detector. Stay here so I can search you.”
“But my son… where is my son?” I asked over and over again.
The female TSA agent called a second female TSA agent over as she began to search me. Apparently the second female TSA agent could hear me protesting and asking for my son.
“Ma’am you need to calm down or I’m going to have to involve the authorities,” she told me.
Now I was pissed.
Horrified. Terrified. Enraged.
“You fucking get the authorities,” I told the female TSA agent while the other continued to wand me and forced me to unbutton my jeans because the button beeped when she went over my abdomen with her wand.
“You get the goddamn authorities right the fuck now and tell them to GIVE ME MY SON,” I said.
I began to black out. I knew I was having a full on panic attack. I feared passing out”.”
Horrific story. This govt is disgusting.
Mentally ill is not the same as mental retardation. And most of the increase in “mental illness” I would guess is due to young kids who get sent to a “therapist” because of their attitude problem.
Even spoiled brats with attitude problems will come to their senses if the government doesn’t stop its attempt to force a Marxist police state on us.
Forgive the pun here, but BOY this is beginning to p*ss me off!
Tea parties need to erupt at airports.
First they came for the flyers. But I said nothing. Then they came for those who went by train. But I said nothing. Then they started in drivers, and by that time, there was nobody left in a position to complain.
