Diana West: Obama's paltry paper trail raises serious questions

Wikipedia, the widely read, online, multiauthored encyclopedia, features an entry on the term "memory hole," which originated with the prescient if not also clairvoyant George Orwell. The Wikipedia definition begins:

"A memory hole is any mechanism for the alteration or disappearance of inconvenient or embarrassing documents, photographs, transcripts, or other records ... particularly as part of an attempt to give the impression that something never happened."

Wikipedia itself may have just offered a good example of how the mechanism works when unknown, unknowable site authorities "took down" a new entry on Lt. Col. Terrence "Terry" Lakin's challenge to President Obama's eligibility to hold office almost as soon it went up.

What the news media should do (Rush, Levin, Savage, Hannity, O’Reilly, Fox, et. al.)is run headliner stories, features, rallies against Obama for throwing a decorated officer under the bus by not simply producing the original long form birth certificate. Why would the most powerful man in the world, the Commander in Chief allow this officer to go to prison by withholding a simple document that is requuired for even a driver’s license.

This is not going to happen because Gov. has already told them they will be investigated with the result that their broadcast license will be revoked!
The only guy who talks about it is Savage, and that’s because he is independent, and not owned by a network.

I suspect that the major media (already throwing Obama under the bus on lots of issues) have the story ready to go as you framed it as soon as the conviction is in, and the WH is panicked by the prospect as there is no way they can spin it.

Sorry, but she doesn’t know how Wikipedia works. ANYONE can register and then go in and edit or delete anything, rearrange articles or consolidate long entries. Obviously someone at the White House is assigned to routinely check those kinds of topics and clean them up. It’s not a mysterious sinister plot, it is taking advantage of the way Wiki works. If you want something to remain on a page, in some cases you have to go into that page every day and put it back. That the Lakin info is still there at all is amazing. Sounds to me like someone just wanted all the info in one place.

Please don’t imply that Rush Limbaugh is scared of the establishment. The Man has made his living fighting for the rights of the working man being fired and moving on. He has told us all along to keep plugging away at the gift God gives you.

I was listening to his show, and a caller evidently lied to the screener and didn't say he was going to bring up the Birther issue. When he did, Rush, cut him off, said there was no reliable information to suggest the Obama’s BC was anything but valid, and spent 5 minutes about callers who would dare lie to the screener!

To be a talk show host/entertainer like Rush you do not need a license.

Yet on other occasions Rush has definitely dipped his toes in the birther water. I’ve heard him do it. Rush is a pragmatic man, and very strong-willed. If there is some threat to his license, he would try to navigate around that without surrendering his freedom to speak to the important issues. What I hear him and the others doing with the birther issue is working around, not a direct threat, but a manufactured social taboo, by saying it doesn’t matter because Obama is acting like a complete alien to American interests anyway. True, this approach doesn’t help us address the constitutional issues wrapped up in the birth question, but it lets us hammer away at why the founders were worried about birth status in the first place, namely, loyalty to American interests.

One further thought. Rush and the other talking heads have been very effective in damaging Obama’s effort to leave a permanent leftist imprint on the American system. How are they getting away with that, if their every move is being scrutinized by some dark power threatening them with license revocation? Why haven’t they been completely neutered, or why have they only been neutered as to this one issue? I know there are some who say the licensure threat did occur, but I have no way of knowing whether that is true, and the behavior of Rush and the others seems to not support that claim. If you have dispositive evidence that such a threat occurred, I’d be interested in hearing about it.

A gaping hole -- dare I say "memory hole"? -- seems to have consumed all possible 0bama records from his education, health, family records, even his pre-presidential political career.

But this subject is never taken seriously by the media or the political establishment, including, most glaringly, erstwhile GOP opponent John McCain, who, on being challenged on the eligibility question himself, should have called on candidate 0bama to join him in releasing their bona fides together.

But even to suggest such a thing is to indulge in "conspiracy theories."

Article II is not about conspiracy theory, it is about the qualification any candidate for the office of the presidency must satisfy.Its meaning is so direct and bald that opponents of the constitution, that is "progressive " Republicans such as John McCain, and leftist liberal fascists like Barak Obama , or Barry Soetoro ( we do not even truly know his genuine name), must either ignore it, or create lofty perigrinations of politially correct, circuitous logic to disinterpret it, based on a skewed racial justification of historic justice.THIS WILL NOT STAND.

It is the very reason why politicians , such as Arnold Schwartzneggar , thank goodness,naturally born in Germany, have been unable to offer themselves for the office of the presidency.

We now see the effects of having a "president" who has no loyalty to the people, systematically disregards the 1st , 4th and 2nd amendments to the constitution, among others he disregards, in the violation of his oath of office, and in violation of the will of the people, as he goes about his sordid task of dismantling our nation from within.HIs usurpations include refusing hhis constitutional duty to protect the nation from invasion over our Southern border

We have a traitor as president because Article II, section 1 of the constitution has not been followed.

Therefore the current resident of the White House MUST resign, or suffer the consequences of having perpetrated a criminal fraud on the Constitution and the people themselves. All laws and executie orders he has signed are null and void, and should haveno effect on the people. The people can quite rightly disregard ALL of them, and refuse to obey ALL of them with impunity.

While I think it is somewhat likely Obama was born in Hawaii, there are so many gaps in his life that appear to be a result of deliberate erasures of information or are based on fabrications. Something as simple as high school or college yearbook photos are strangely absent. No one who supposedly attended school with Obama seems to remember him. He was editor of the Harvard Law Review, but none of his writings seem available. How he was able to pay for schooling at Columbia and Harvard is unknown. It just seems odd that the paper trail that would normally follow someone is either non existent or has gaps and inconsistencies. Even the Clinton’s who attempted to sanitize their past could not escape leaked photos of Hillary in coke bottle glasses or Bill looking like a bearded hippy.

Now that Rahm and Axelrod are gone, I wouldn't be surprised if disclosure occurred before the new Congress can be sworn in. I am also hoping that Supreme Court will do something on November 23 on the Apuzzo/Kirchner case. Thanks for your post.
