Its time to realize that for 8 years conservatives defended this man but we didnt do it because we supported his liberal policies but because he was our commander and chief in a time of war.

His domestic policies were radical left in many ways along with many people in his administration.

Many of people on our side are so used to defending him against the left that they have gotten emotional attached to a president who laid down to the liberals because he was deep down one of them when it came to economic policy...

Minus the tax cuts he was a democrat which today makes you a radical.

'"I sat next to her once. Thought she was beautiful," Barbara Bush said. "And she's very happy in Alaska, and I hope she'll stay there." "

I was watching this TV interview and, at first, couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. After a bit of thought and knowing that the Washington elites somehow believe that it is their birthright to tell us what to do (and I include Democrats and Republicans in that knowledge), I realized that Barbara Bush was simply saying what she believed to be right. People like her are unable to imagine that anyone, other they they, has a single notion that trumps their idea of what is right for the country.

The Tea Parties have their hands full, my friends. The Tea Parties believe that they can keep those recently elected in line. In the end, they may be able to, but it's going to be an ongoing, never ending fight.

It only seems like yesterday when we had the ubiquitous “PRAY FOR PRESIDENT BUSH” threads on FR. Oh, how the times have changed. I am glad we have finally come to our senses and realized the long due fact that these RINOS have destroyed the country as much as the libs.

How pathetic of Barbara Bush to court all the people who despise her husband and son. And who will continue to do so despite her lame attempts to do divert their attention.

Reagan handed your husband his, despite some misgivings, and he blew it...Barbara
it's how distasteful and classless are so many of the GOP establishment types lined-up against her.

Hey Barbara....(respectfully :) Please tend to Millie (the dog)
and let H.W. & W / Lara enjoy their free-time in private life.

Leave Palin & the TEA Parties alone...
And tell the your GOP Blue-bloods / RINOs to GO TO HELL!
along w/ their Washington Ruling Class fiends

People get upset when pundits say Palin is divisive and yet FReepers are now turning on Barbara Bush and Rove, former favorites.

If Palin is worthy of being president, then she has to be able to take criticism.

We can come together if and when she is the nominee.

What a snobbish comment Barbie.

>broken tax pledges

Yep... the Bush family has been a mixed bag/blessing at best.

Senior was a RINO and a fervent One Worlder who was willing to bend every which way to serve his power agenda... and was not afraid to use his lying “lips” to get what he wanted. W had a good heart (really cares about America) but he mistakenly spent like a drunken sailor, almost as bad as Dims (Prescription drug bill, wtf?), was too in love with porous borders (and not enough for American sovereignty) and increased the power of the executive too much (now look who has access to it! MISTAKE).

I’m done with the Bush family in power — two steps forward, a step and a half back. We need to stride into the future. Time to give an up and coming REAL conservative a chance — if we can beat the RINO establishment enough to make it happen!

RE :”And as much as I supported her husband and her son while they were in office, they've hardly gotten us to a great place. Guess what? If not for 9/11, GW may well have been a one-term-er, just like his father. He barely escaped losing to John freaking Kerry. In fact, he barely defeated Gore in 2000. So, just how wise is this new found Bush wisdom? I don't see much in the record to support it, short of the political calculations of some consultants concerned more with winning elections, than the nation's politics.

All this Bush bashing is making me ill. Didn't they see this gem:
George W. Bush, is, in fact, at the very least, the second most conservative President in American history.....???

Didn't he keep us safe???? :)

I like all of the Bush family, I think they are good people...their politics were center right, and they governed they way they thought would work in these times.

And obviously, some of their policies were wrong...and their coddling of Democrats was WAY wrong.

But Barbara Bush's comment was just plain rude, why tell any American to “stay in their State”?

Much less a good Conservative woman like Sarah Palin.

The comment was unseemly and unnecessary.

The times that we are living in require a strong man: Allen West not Sarah Palin.

No, Barbara Bush should not shut up. For God’s sake, we have a First Amendment right to speak our minds in this country. Conservatives had better start living up to their rhetoric. Are we going to back up and live by our Constitution or not? Are some of you so insecure in your beliefs and candidates that you cannot handle an honest debate in an open forum? Or are some of you demanding your own version of “political correctness”? Buck up, for crying out loud!!!
