Scarborough: Palin Knows She Can't Win, In It For Money

Joe Scarborough has a decidedly cynical take on Sarah Palin's public musings about the possibility of a 2012 presidential run. The Morning Joe host asserts that Palin knows she can't win and won't run.
According to Scarborough, Palin is in it for the money, and is engaging in open speculation about a run for the mercenary purpose of keeping her brand alive.
Joe offered his jaded view on today's Morning Joe after the show aired a clip of Palin telling Barbara Walters that she believed she could defeat Pres. Obama.

Ugh... I don’t mind people stating their opinion about the possibility or impossibility of a candidate to win. After all, good people might have different opinion on whether a candidate will win or not. Saying that she’s only in for money, however, is beyond low because he’s introducing a motive that nobody can verify but Palin. Since he is paid by for-profit company, I’ll say that he just make controversial statement for money.

Every time I hear someone say “Palin can’t win!” (including many who are supposedly on OUR side) it makes me more and more resolved to see her win.
That talking point is OLD.
It’s less than two years before the election. She’s the most prominent conservative in America (well, except for Rush... and he’s most certainly not going to run), and the only people with ANY name recognition to go up against her are the same bunch of pathetic losers who lost the nomination LAST time to an even MORE pathetic nasty old geezer who could barely figure out how to stand on his feet and talk at the same time (though he DID assure us there was “nothing to fear” about an Obama Presidency).
... and I believe it’s too late for anyone else to enter the race and get enough exposure to win (not to mention the whore media would do everything in their power to destroy Mr. New in the meantime).

First things first. I'm no fan of Scarborough. I don't like the guy.
But he may have stumbled upon the truth. She may not be the best candidate to run against Obama. She may be a real hero to Freepers. But learned a long time ago that my opinions are in the minority. The vast majority of posters on this site are in the minority as well. I do like the woman but that only goes so far. There are lots of people out there who are convinced by MSM that she isn't presidential material. I know at least 10 or so people who might vote for a Chris Christie or Bob McDonnell but would not vote for Palin. So we need to wait and see. We cannot afford to lose the presidency in 2012. So we need a candidate who can defeat Obama. That's the issue. This isn't Delaware.

Where was Obama at this time in 2006? Did anyone care or even know about him.

Surprise. Surprise. Connect the dots......
Joe Scarborough is yet another Romney supporter,
now with the rest of Team Romney in to attack Gov. Palin.
NOT Obama. NOT the DNC.
"Pat Buchanan asks Ziegler who were the main culprits in the media attack against Palin,
and Joe Scarborough interrupted Ziegler and would not let him answer!"
"Scarborough: Romney Won Debate"
"Mitt Romney Absolutely Dominated"
"Joe Scarborough losing more and more sleep over McCain
"John McCain is ruining Joe Scarborough's life. Joe can't sleep or eat.
His man Romney is now showing 15 points behind McCain nationally.
Joe is sick over it. How could the good republicans of this nation vote for such a liberal.
He aims to do something about it. He doesn't know what yet, but dammit,
Romney is going to be President if he has his way about it. He knows the real Mitt.
He knows Mitt simply lied to get elected in MA. He doesn't know why he lied, and he doesn't care."
"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"
"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"
"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"
"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"
"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"
Similar to Romney's other scortched earth tactics:
Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"
Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson."
"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

No doubt that you are correct. Scarborough is an AH. But that doesn't mean he's always wrong.
Palin may not be in it for the money, but if she doesn't have enough across the board support, I hope she doesn't run just to run. We cannot lose in 2012 or the country is finished. We must elect someone who can win. Just because most here on Free Republic simply love the woman doesn't mean she can win. Those of us who post on this site are a tiny minority and we should never forget that.

Palin lost me the minute she broke her oath of office and abandoned the people of Alaska to seek fame and fortune in the lower 48.
Epic Fail.

No doubt that you are correct. Scarborough is an AH. But that doesn't mean he's always wrong. Sounds like you want to agree that Sarah is "just in it for the money". huh? Even with your disclaimer, it isn't hard to spot these type posts. I guess you guys figure a little chip here, a little whack there, and you will delight the masses OF DIMOCRAPS! You sound almost like a falcon party type!
Who is doing more for the conservative cause these days?
