What Happens if You Decline a Full Body Scan?
aol ^ | Nov 15th 2010 | Fran Golden

When you ask a friend to join you for a nice weekend cruise from Miami, you don't expect the friend to be hauled away by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents into a private room where she says she was practically strip-searched. But that's what happened at Logan International Airport in Boston...

I looked over to the adjacent security line and saw to my horror my red-faced friend questioning TSA officers after she was chosen at random for, and refused to go through, a full body scanner.

My pal happens to be a Boston media personality and crime reporter, Michele McPhee. She is not a shy lady. When this tough blond makes up her mind she makes up her mind. There was no way she was going to be convinced to do a body scan if she didn't want to.

So instead, she opted for a pat down and was whisked away, barefoot, by two women - a TSA officer and her supervisor - to a private room, where McPhee says a very intrusive body search was conducted.

"They run their hands inside your leg and under your bra strap and patted the front of my breasts," she says. "If someone had done that to me at a nightclub I'd call the cops."

"People need to know why we need body scanners," she says. "The humiliation of walking across a crowded, dirty terminal in bare feet, escorted by two TSA agents, dragged into a room and essentially assaulted, I really did leave mad."

TSA agent: Step into the scanner, please.
Traveler: I opt out
TSA agent: Well, then will have to do a full body pat down, groin area, underarms, buttocks etc etc
Traveler: Ok, I just hope my bedbugs don't bite.

Anyone get a response from anyone in Congress about this? I still haven't heard from my Go-along-Get-along RINO Rodney Freylinghuysen. (Unless you count the automated response.)

These scan-complainers and body search babies can blame Islamic terrorists for their gripes, not the TSA.
Do they care if their planes blow up?
What a bunch of bitching dummies!

Anyone with half a brain KNOWS that Islamic terrorists would love to KILL US around our Judeo-Christian holidays.

Germany went on high alert last evening and it’s obvious that the U.S. is also.

It was only ~ 2+ years ago that everyone was screaming at that mean ‘ol G.W. for taking all our personal liberties away -— like “Domestic Spying”!

In fact, it was not “Domestic Spying” at all -— it was international spying (Al-Qaeda calling someone in the U.S.).

No, we do what El Al does.

FR Poster brought up a good question earlier. How many airports does El Al run in comparison to the U.S. What is their flight load/capacity daily?
Asking seriously because I never found the answer. I like what the Israeli's do; I just wonder how we would have to adapt it for U.S. use based on volume.

My question is what happens if you accept the body scanner, but you have an artificial knee. Wanna’ bet I get BOTH treatments?

I had a run-in at Logan about 5 years ago....and can attest to the stupidity they call TSA security.

After coming out of the gate area, I stopped to ask directions to the baggage claim and the TSA goon grabbed my purse, put it on a conveyor belt to go BACK into the gate area while demanding to see my ticket and telling me to take off my shoes.

He kept asking me where I was going and I kept saying "I'm HERE". (He has my ticket in hand) I demanded he get my purse off the conveyor and just direct me to the baggage claim so I could retrieve my luggage.

The idiot kept this little game up until a supervisor saw the commotion and came over. When I explained to her what had happened; she quietly rescued my purse, handed it to me and pointed to the baggage claim......never saying a word. I was so angry I vowed to NEVER fly again....and haven't.

I can't imagine someone willingly subjecting themselves to the likes of these fools.

No reason a large country with a large population can’t exert the same proportion of it’s resources to its higher number of airports.

Wanna bet We and Israel have nearly the same number of airports per population?

Also El Al handles its own security for flights going into Israel, much less simple than only handling flights originating on their own soil.

Recently I was stopped by two TSA agents. First agent asks why I had bacon bits, “You planning on making a salad?”

“Nope. It’s for terrorists.”

Second agent says “What does bacon have to to with terrorism???”

First agent gives him a ‘you idiot’ look...

I wouldn’t be surprised if all this nonsense is leading up to a “Trusted Flier” program, utilizing some kind of marking or device, a la biblical “mark of the beast”. They will bust our balls with crazy screenings, until everyone is up in arms, then announce a better solution to make everyone happy. lol

Another Freeper suggested the other day that we use all of this technological acumen to just build a machine that passengers can walk through at the airport that detonates explosives.

You’d have to sandbag it, vent it upward out the roof and make some L shaped approaches to protect other people from flying bone fragments and such, but that’s all easy.

How many American planes have been blown up because terrorists got around the security we had in place between 911 and now?

Will YOU allow a body cavity search by TSA strangers because that will make me feel more secure?

Will YOU allow a body cavity search of your children or grand children by TSA pedophiles?

Weapons or explosives can both be hidden in a rectum or vagina.

Amazingly enough, there are even FReeper sheeple who apparently will allow the government to do anything in the interest of “security.” Well, we have a constitution for a reason, and it says the government must have probable cause AND a search warrant. The mere fact that I purchase an airline ticket is NOT probable cause that I’m a terrorist.

To those sheeple posting here, what are you going to do if there’s a body cavity bomb next? Oh! We’ve already had one, so you sheeple will now willingly spread ‘em...in the interest of “security” of course? Or, what if there’s a bombing at a football game, mall, or some other public event? Are you going to just surrender your rights because someone thinks there’s a risk? Just how much freedom are you sheeple willing to give up in the interest of (false) security?

You sheeple posters DO realize that there’s no end to this crap if we citizens don’t draw the line, don’t you? We are either free, or we are slaves of government. What’s it going to be?

>>>How many airports does El Al run in comparison to the U.S. What is their flight load/capacity daily?

Ben Gurion airport has about the same passenger volume as a regional airport like the one in Sacramento.

>>>I just wonder how we would have to adapt it for U.S. use based on volume.

The Israelis have been refning this for years and I don’t imagine these are skills that are easily handed off. We would likely need dual practices for several years before we were at their capabilities across the entire US.
