Sarah Palin says she is seriously considering a run for the White House, and she believes she could beat President Obama in 2012, the former Alaska governor told ABC News' Barbara Walters. "I'm looking at the lay of the land now, and ... trying to figure that out, if it's a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family, if it's a good thing," Palin said in an interview scheduled to air in full Dec. 9 on ABC as part of Walters' "10 Most Fascinating People" of 2010.

Not trying to pick a fight, but my point is if anything she is not Reagan like, but Reagan-lite.
And I am not a fan of any of those others. For a number of reasons. Mostly because they are empty suits.
But, I really believe that if the folks around here continue to delude themselves that she is a Reagan clone, there will be a ton of people here in November 2012 scratching their heads wondering what the hell just happened.
If you run her, you will lose the house again, lose your gains in the Senate (in the best opportunity in years to gain control) and you will lose the Presidency for 12 years (4 more Obama and 8 Clinton II)
Just curious—but were you around during Reagan? I find a lot of people in their 20’s and 30’s think they understand the Reagan of the 60’s and 70’s and their experience just isn’t there. Not trying to offend, but more curious than anything else.
We shall see. If she is the nominee, she will get my vote. But I won’t help her get there.

By the time of the 2012 primary, several states will have enacted new election laws which compel anyone seeking to run for US president to show proof that they're a Natural Born Citizen.
I've read the text of one proposed for my state of Texas. It demands that all candidates for president produce a valid long-form birth certificate.
This will be an insurmountable barrier for Obama. He will not run for a second term because of it. Not to mention the fact that his party is already trying to figure out how to ease him out of office.

We’re on the same team re Obama v. Palin in the qualification/leadership/who loves America front - you should read some of my other comments on this forum about him.
I am just concerned that the media/leftists did such a number on her when she appeared on the scene that there is a big percentage of the population that will never vote for her. That’s all.
Amen about God help us re Romney, Huckabee and Gingrich. I am liking what I see of Chris Christie on the fiscal conservatism front, but he says he’s not interested in 2012. I think the Repubs are best served by a fresh face, but it’s not clear yet who that could be.
What sucks is that you KNOW the media is going to be in overdrive trying to get Obama re-elected in 2012. I don’t care how much pseudo-criticism they may have of him now - we all know that come September and October 2012, every organ of the MSM will be endorsing him and savaging whoever is running against him. I fear that Palin makes the easiest target for that. That’s all. As I’ve said before, I love the fact that she drives liberals insane and my hat is off to her for making herself a brand name while pulling in some $$$$.

No kidding, it's almost uncanny. Sarah is liked, she can state issues in everyday language, the media hates her, and the tea party as momentum. I'm not a Palin supporter at this time, but I am looking at her as a serious candidate. Right now, she's my personal frontrunner.
Everything you said is true about Reagan's campaign, he was viewed as the underdog. He'd never win, he tried 3 times. He was pro America, clinging to his God and guns. Sarah is Pro America, he was a buffoon, Sarah is a buffoon, he was just an actor, Sarah is just a hick. She's been through the vetting process, Owebama could never survive what Palin went through.
At this point in time, she has the best chance to win. And she's conservative. I'll never hold my nose again.
Trust me. Blacks will accept NO ONE but Obama in 2012, and they won't accept any reasons as to why he won't run. They will stay home in droves, rather than give their votes to another Democrat, unless it's another black Democrat who they fall in love with, starting now.
Fact: Democrats can not win a presidential election without the black vote. If they don't (or can't) run Obama in 2012, the Republican wins.

And just think, he “could” have won election in ‘68, but Nixon managed to win the nomination in round one at the Convention. The second round of voting would have seen RWR the victor.

No one is calling her a Reagan clone, but everyone, left, right, center, enemies, friends, you, cannot help but to put their names together, that is because Palin is the most Reagan like figure that we have seen since Reagan.
Palin led us to historical gains this election, and in 2012 she as the presidential candidate would do the same, making strong Senate gains, House gains and on down the ticket as she helps keep the tea party/conservative movement growing and passionate. Just as she did this time, not only will those winners be GOP, but they will be more conservative.
Yes I remember Reagan, although I was getting a little old for it, I went back into military service as a show of solidarity with Reagan’s foreign policy. I also served under Nixon, but I prefer Palin to all of them Nixon, Ford, HW Bush, Bob Dole, John McCain, even GW.
