This liberal’s head never exploded when pranksters deliberately sought to keep bad singers in American Idols’ later rounds.

Waaaah. LOL.
It’s the power of the American voter, baby! Suck it up, Bristol’s a favorite on a “POPULARITY CONTEST” dance show—kind of like how “Survivor” isn’t really about SURVIVAL, but about “popularity” of a personality! :-)
Go, Bristol the Pistol!! All the way to the WIN!!! :-)

that's about as believable as seeing Russia from her mother's house. Well now we know that facts and intelligence are not Debra Yeo's strong suit.
And DWTS has ALWAYS been a popularity contest.

Bristol is not a very good dancer.
To: kristinn
Jezebel quoted one site, FreeRepublic.com, that urged its members to "make liberal heads explode" by voting for Bristol, "even though she is not the best dancer." A look at the past 20 years' Grammy winners for "best spoken word" album read like a who's who of liberalism. AS IF they had all recorded THE BEST spoken word albums. Hillary Clinton, Barrack Obama, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton...
Remember when comedians and poets used to win such an award?

Don’t the homo’s do the same with American idol everytime there is a queer they like on that show? Does anybody complain?

1) The voting algorithm aims at making this (in part) a popularity contest and (in part) a talent contest. Deal with it.
2) It's a ratings bonanza. The show is loving this outcome.

OH too bad, it's a dancing competition, not a vote for a National Election!!!
Let's talk instead about VOTER FRAUD in Nevada this past election!!!!
Oops, that would shut them up, now wouldn't it????

DWTS is a pure Voting Democracy in action, apparently the “real” fans who are upset would rather have DWTS as a Republic with checks and balances and all that ‘nonsense’.
Teaching moment?

Well, my liberal head is kind of exploding right now because Bristol made the finals on DWTS at the expense of a far superior dancer, Brandy.”
WAY TO GO FREEPERS, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
Now how do we make EVERY OTHER LIBERALS head explode?
To: kristinn
Damn! I meant to watch DWTS, but I had to rearrange my sock drawer.

We now live in a world where Politics is part of entertainment. Geeez, who would ever think of abusing the ballot to make a contestant win? Only the Tea Party of course. s/.

There is a strong movement afoot to discredit Sarah Palin AND make Free Republic look like a cheap gossip blog.
And that movement is headed by and supported by FReepers who literally post thousands of posts each week about Dancing with the Stars.
It’s FReeping embarrassing. And Jim Rob should stop it.

This is obviously false since we ALL know the TP Movement is nothing but a few weirdos living in the mountains who cling to their guns and Bibles.
To: kristinn
The Internet's been buzzing with talk about how members of the U.S. Tea Party movement have been getting out the vote for Bristol Palin on Dancing With the Stars. So? Thousands of drag queens and queers kept voting for Prince Poppycock on America's Got Talent. Whatcha point, bub?
To: kristinn
I wish the voting was not part of the show. Seems to make it more of a popularity contest rather than a display of mastering a skill.
