A House panel on Tuesday found Representative Charles B. Rangel guilty of 11 counts of ethical violations, ruling that his failure to pay taxes, improper solicitation of fund-raising donations and failure to accurately report his personal income had brought dishonor on the House.
After a public hearing Monday that was truncated by Mr. Rangel walking out in protest, an adjudicatory subcommittee of the House ethics committee deliberated for four hours before finding him guilty of all but one of the 13 counts against him.
(Two other counts, involving Mr. Rangels misuse of House franking privileges, were merged into one.)

Expecting the “but he has done so much good so he should get a pass” justification from the Democrats.

This is great news. But how did he get out of the one? Now, will he, in the interest of being dignified, resign?

Failure to pay taxes is a Federal Offense...so why isn’t he being arrested.
To: BenLurkin
Of course AND he has already suffered enough that no other penalty should be applied. Let’s all just MOVEON. Nothing to see here.

Of course AND he will be re-elected. I believe he already WAS re-elected. But you have to remember, corruption is a selling point to liberal voters.

Are they even going to make him pay the back taxes with penalties? Can you imagine if that was one of us!

“....so why isnt he being arrested.”
That is precisely my question too. He broke the law.

Because ... as others have pointed out ... breaking the law is a resume "enhancer" if you're a Dem Lib ...
To: Racehorse
Obviously, this is very racist of the Democrats.

Simple.
He is part of the elite ruling class. We all bow down to him and his kind.

He is a Black Communist Democrat from Harlem. That is why.

“...his failure to pay taxes, improper solicitation of fund-raising donations and failure to accurately report his personal income had brought dishonor on the House.”
And all the while I thought it was his sitting in the House that had brought it dishonor. There’s probably 100 more who should go thru this process (both parties).

Commoners like ourselves would be arrested and thrown in jail. Congressmen continue to be crooks because they can.
