Amazing Interview: Air Force General says "Sub Launched Missile, 100% Certain"
Fox News Interview with Air Force General Tom McInerney | November 14th 2010 | Fox News Hannity Interview

Posted on 11/13/2010 2:55:59 PM PST by DontTreadOnMe2009

Hannity was surprised to hear a famous ex Air Force General tell him “That Is A Missile, Shot From A Submarine!” I quote retired Air Force Lieutenant General Tom McInerney (ex commander of 11th Air Force in Alaska) “I spent 35 years flying fighters, and you can see the guidance system kick in, I have watched that film 10 times, I am absolutely certain that that is not an aircraft, but a sub launch ICBM missile!!!” See the video and judge his words for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LivRJOWrcpA&feature=player_embedded#! I will next post a clickable link.

Nothing’s going to convince you obviously, so I give up. Look at the pictures and so on. Sooner than later this will be forgotten and nobody will care because it was something that happens all the time but happened to be caught on video this one time and some fools decided to go with it being something it is not.

Not really. If a boat were a mile or two away from the point of launch it would have been just fine. Again, no reports coming in from any sailors either on cargo ships or sailboats have mentioned anything. How about people flying small aircraft? None of them saw it either?

I’m going with the opinion that it was just an airplane.

That is the key to your argument. The Missile is moving away from the coast. There isn’t even a dispute on that. You can see the rocket engines burning from the rear of the missile.

It’s moving east though and that ‘burning’ is the reflection of the sun on the underside of a plane.

Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean that one hasn't been produced. Folks have even found a GOES weather satellite image of the contrail.

Here's another photo of the same flight the following day:

Here's a photo of a December 31, 2009 contrail:

Here's a page showing the creation and wind-spreading of a VAFB missile launch. Note that the higher winds aloft spread out the upper section of the contrail more quickly than the lower sections, exactly the opposite of the LA contrail.

The more these types see those pictures, the more it’ll make them convinced that ‘this time it’s different’ even though they are nearly identical. True believers and all that, it’s an unpleasant sight.

At 35 miles out 2 degrees is 2/360 * pi * 35 Or 3225 feet.

The blast zone was, given the cloud/contrail size at the horizon, 3225 feet wide.

That is several times wider than the blast zone you'd have if you blew up a Saturn V rocket on the launchpad!

That'd DESTROYED anyone as close as 1600 feet from the launch point!

The UPS plane wasn’t a 747, it was a MD11-F

Naw, you don't get it. IF it were a missile the BLAST ZONE of the exhaust would have been over 3000 ft wide!

That's because that contrail appears to be as much as 2 degrees wide at the horizon (assuming ground level 35 miles away).

Imagine the SHOCKWAVE generated by a blast 3000 feet wide!

That'd probably knocked windows out of every building in Los Angeles County West of the mountains!

We saw none of those things happen. No windows were broken. No boats were sunk. No boaters are reported missing.

It was a plane!

You are pinning all your hopes on a retired general. Without analyzing whether he is right. That is a fallacy: Description of Appeal to Authority An Appeal to Authority is a fallacy with the following form: 1. Person A is (claimed to be) an authority on subject S. 2. Person A makes claim C about subject S. 3. Therefore, C is true. This fallacy is committed when the person in question is not a legitimate authority on the subject. More formally, if person A is not qualified to make reliable claims in subject S, then the argument will be fallacious. This sort of reasoning is fallacious when the person in question is not an expert. In such cases the reasoning is flawed because the fact that an unqualified person makes a claim does not provide any justification for the claim. The claim could be true, but the fact that an unqualified person made the claim does not provide any rational reason to accept the claim as true. When a person falls prey to this fallacy, they are accepting a claim as true without there being adequate evidence to do so. More specifically, the person is accepting the claim because they erroneously believe that the person making the claim is a legitimate expert and hence that the claim is reasonable to accept. Since people have a tendency to believe authorities (and there are, in fact, good reasons to accept some claims made by authorities) this fallacy is a fairly common one. http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/appeal-to-authority.html

With the millions of people living in Cali why is this the only picture of the launch?

Occam’s razor: This was either an ordinary plane or an unbelievable SLBM or ICBM launch 35 miles off the coast.

All the pictures of it heading east and other contrails that look exactly like it would also have to be faked or flat out ignored as well. The fact that a scheduled plane happened to be right there at the same time (and didn’t report seeing this insanely massive event).. What’s harder to believe? You might as well say bigfoot launched it when it gets so ridiculous.

I have not followed this minute by minute but will accept the Good General’s judgment.

My Take.....

The Israeli’s did it.

They want to scare the hell out of Obama. There will be no admission and they left no trace.

I wonder how many people here would believe this photo, (taken on 12/31/2009), is that of a missile launch. Photobucket

THAT is the thing that has me thinking that it was something other than a missile.

Where are the other witnesses?

Where are the people who heard it—these things are very loud, especially where sound carries much further over water.

Where are the casual boaters who would have been within 20-30 miles of this thing—seeing the light, smoke and contrail—and then those with 15 miles hearing the noise as it lifted up.

In LA, you would figure at least a couple of them would be selling their story to E!, or CNN.

THAT is what has me doubting the missile story.
