Hannity was surprised to hear a famous ex Air Force General tell him That Is A Missile, Shot From A Submarine! I quote retired Air Force Lieutenant General Tom McInerney (ex commander of 11th Air Force in Alaska) I spent 35 years flying fighters, and you can see the guidance system kick in, I have watched that film 10 times, I am absolutely certain that that is not an aircraft, but a sub launch ICBM missile!!! See the video and judge his words for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LivRJOWrcpA&feature=player_embedded#! I will next post a clickable link.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
Thanks for the info on the helicopter location, time, orientation. First time I’ve seen that anywhere.
If you know how long the object was video taped, how long it was in view and moving, I’d appreciate it very much.
“Tell me, do you really think that this is an airliner and not a missile launch, as the Jane’s expert is calling it and as the former Under Secretary of Defense is calling it???”
And the photo still proves it is not a missile.
The proof is right there in the phote, if you only choose to see it.
Or you can try to ride the thread for another 1000 posts.
I posted a few times in the first days after this event. I was informed that this 'was not a fact-finding forum. Opinions were all that mattered. And the guy was dead serious.
Condescending git! I’ve seldom been more embarrassed for FR then I am now.
Here is a video of a shuttle launch taken at very close range. The shuttle has two solid rocket motors each of which is much bigger than an ICBM motor. At about 1:30 into the video why can't we see any glow from the motors? It "would be constant" right?
>>>”The only place I could find mention of it was in the following written story from ABC.”
No, that’s CBS. Identical quote from the CBS Early Show report I posted earlier.
That matches with the local CBS report that the photographer estimated it to be north of Catalina Island. That doesn't match at all with awe808 or the UPS flight which pass over or just south of Catalina Island.
Well, it was constant... and it receded quickly downrange... and looks absolutely nothing like that contrail. Especially the downrange part.
Sorry...
RAW VIDEO: Mysterious Contrail Off Calif.
Lorrie LaibleI find it intersting that no one claims to know about this. Yesterday we were returning from Honolulu on Hawaiian Airlines with an arrival time of 3:25 pm at LAX. Approximately 270 miles away our pilot came on the speaker and told us we would be rerouted over Big Sur California due to military maneuvers in our path. Maybe they should speak with the pilot of our flight.

I grew up in the Denver area and watched a few hundred myself. I would say less than half a mile before they simply got so thin they no longer looked like a contrail at all.
30 seconds into launch, over 3 miles altitude. Note the tight exhaust trail.
40 seconds later, rocket has gone 17 miles higher - over 20 miles in altitude. Serious fire from the rockets - no doubt, no dull redish reflection appearing briefly then disappearing.
Solid booster rocket separation:
And finally, three minutes after launch, extreme zoom sees the fire end of the rockets disappearing, traveling over 2,600 miles per hour.
Why? Did I say something untrue?
Neither have I including the post you were replying to #1032. Where did lbahneman say anything about the helicopter location, time, orientation?
OK, it’s CBS not ABC. So what? It’s still just a reporter saying that Gil Leyvas taped for 10 minutes. That’s the extent of any explanation of the total video time that I have heard or read. It is second-hand info.
Must be a local Denver phenomenon. A quarter of the sky or more is not unusual around here and elswhere:
It wasn’t constant. At the 1:30 minute mark the glow from the motor was not visible from that point on. Just make things up if you can’t refute them eh? lol
So, it's taken me a couple of days to get you and Don'tTread to stop making unsupported claims about the timing.
Hopefully stop, anyway.
What point does any of that make?
Show me an example then instead of that pic. The widest contrail in that pic is not a mile wide and, more to the point, it is very thin and wispy. It bears no comparison with the contrail in the video does it?
