BET Founder Warns Dems: Lose Jim Clyburn, Lose Black Voters
November 11, 2010 06:38 AM
(News One) The founder of Black Entertainment Television is warning Democrats that pushing Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) out of leadership means losing black voters. Robert L. Johnson sent a letter to the House leadership and the Congressional Black Caucus underscoring why Clyburn should be whip over House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.). To be clear, Johnson has no vote, and this leadership position will be determined by private ballot in a closed Democratic caucus meeting. But the Johnson letter seems to be more of a public relations effort on Clyburns behalf.
Nope, that clowns name was Hank Johnson and he won relection handily (Georgia)
Yeah blacks are complete knee jerk democrats but they are still in the minority
There are enough knee jerk white liberals around who will never change either
2012: The End of an Error
Anyone who writes their own autobiography before age 40, but who has never accomplished anything, is narcistically deluded to the point they have no touch with reality. This time, I think there are enough people who see through the smoke and mirrors to throw this empty hat out the window.
That is right. What they will do is not vote.
The word he said was niggers, if you're going to quote a President of the United States, have the courtesy to quote him correctly and completely.
If 30-40% of blacks voted Republican in the next election, you would see the biggest change in the way politics is run in this country and those that would benefit the most would be INDIVIDUAL BLACK PEOPLE, not blacks the group.
When individual black people realize that each person is responsible for their own actions, wealth, health, happiness and most important their Soul, we will see a massive change.
Until then, not so much.
Textbook example of the “undistributed middle” fallacy.

I’m starting up the Malt Liquor Party.
Now also note that in the average political election, roughly 40% of eligible black voters go out and vote. It has been shown overwhelmingly that higher and medium income blacks are significantly more likely to vote than lower income blacks. Being as such, the majority of the 40% who vote come from the upper and middle income bracket.
Thus, most black voters are not voting for personal handouts or “crumbs”. If they are voting for handouts, they are voting to give handouts to those low income blacks who are typically apathetic to voting out of a flawed sense of compassion and social consciousness.
But I think that the biggest reason for the high tendency to vote Democrat is general perception. Blacks generally perceive Republicans as antagonistic toward them.
I am ashamed to say that I was avoiding the political correctness police. I am usually encouraging others not to be cowed by political correctness.
Kinda sounds like a threat.
some might call it ‘blackmail’
Interesting analysis, but I stick by my original assertion.
First, it’s a sad commentary that only 40% of Blacks bother to vote and inform themselves of the issues. Sorry, but anybody can read a paper, look at their circumstances, and come to a conclusion. After 40-50 years, you’d think the Black Community would have a clue about their plight under the Dems. In fact, I think White Liberals love this ignorance of their Black subordinates.
Secondly, If Blacks have the perception that the GOP has been antagonistic against them; they are woefully ignorant of history, or just plain stupid! Do you think Blacks know what the party votes in the 1964 Civil Rights Act were? Do you think they understand that most Dems in the House and Senate voted against this legislation? Do you think they understand most Republicans voted for it?
Do you think Blacks are drawing any perceptions the way Rep. James Clyburn is being shoved back to the bottom of the House Dem leadership, in favor of the White Steny Hoyer? Sorry, but for Blacks to ignore this means they are comfortable in their current position, or they’re stupid.
Again, if 95% of Blacks vote for this Liberal agenda, time and time again, whether they receive it or not means nada! They are encouraging their fellow Blacks to live in this subservient environment.
What ingrates!
What a laugh!!! It’s hard to respond to such a stupid premise when laughter is this uncontrollable. Blacks...ha...ha...leaving...hee...hee...hee...the Democratic...stop(!)...I can’t breathe!!!...Party...this is torture!!!...I’m begging...ha...ha...ha...help!!!
This reminds me of how so many blacks judge today's whites based on the racism of 50 years ago and earlier. Just as people evolve and change, so do political parties despite retaining the same names. When blacks see images of Bull Conner, they don't see “Democrat”. They see “conservative”. If we look at modern times, we see Republican Ran Paul questioning the need for the Civil Rights Act and doing so for the same reason that Democrats questioned the need in the 60s.
But I will say that most of the arguments made as to why blacks should vote Republican are legitimate and I believe that embracing conservatism all around would solve most of the problems in black America (while embracing liberal ideas has been and continues to be a detriment). The problem comes when making such arguments is routinely accompanied by expressing the possibility of black American's in general being “stupid”. This tends to overshadow any constructive information because beyond all else, the black reader will focus of feeling insulted and demeaned and leave with the very negative perception I mentioned before.
