Who the hell is Rep. Jeb Hensarling compared to Michelle Bachmann?

Looks like women need apply for leadership in the GOP, or President for that matter. The good ole boy network still lives. And Palin and Bachmann will still have to battle them.

In the House, she’s my leader and she has been a few years now. She’s got more guts and smarts than most anyone who has served in Congress in my time.

I wish this woman would run for president. I think she is one of the most honest “public servants” I have ever seen.

If she backed out, she had her reasons. I just have to trust her based upon past performance.

She would have been great in a GOP leadership position. Maybe she will change her mind.

GOP leadership and beltway types think it’s business as usual

the will craft a sow’s ear from a silk purse

or snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

if we are not careful

Very unfortunate. The RINO parade will continue for two years, and then the Republicans will be voted out of office as Obama wins re-election. It’s too bad they immediately began to disregard the message of the Tea Party not a week after the election.

I would rather Bachmann had won but I’m glad she didn’t press the issue. Let’s go into 2011 all being allies and friends, with no contention between us. At least for now. Let’s just see how things unfold on the House floor, and not make a big issue out of this.

In policy debates, Bachmann will still be able to use the new Tea Party Caucus -- which she founded -- to keep an eye on Republican policies. If she were a member of leadership, she would be close to top Republicans like Boehner and Cantor but would have a tougher time opposing their agenda. She's now free to use the Tea Party Caucus -- which may grow in the new majority -- to oppose GOP legislation she finds unfavorable.
Good.

GOP at the crossroads. If they do not change, they will die. If it’s back to business as usual, they serve no purpose. Being conservative is not enough. Mouthing conservative ideals is not enough.

We need leaders who will adamantly oppose bigger government and push to curtail spending. Leaders who will strive for repeal of the laws which the Democrats shoved down our throats during the past two years. Leaders who will insist that the Federal Government adhere to the Constitution, and who will place a high value on liberty.

We are in a battle for our country, and for our children’s future. We must win, or die trying.
