Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann dropped out of the race for House Republican Conference chair on Wednesday night, ensuring that the GOP’s leadership elections will go on without any serious competition.

In a statement sent to a handful of reporters Wednesday evening, the tea party favorite said that Texas Rep. Jeb Hensarling has her “enthusiastic support for his candidacy” for the top messaging post in the GOP.

I could be wrong, but if I am right, then its going to be a good thing in the long run for her, to not be associated with what might become the most hated Congress in recent history.

I am already seeing signs that tell me despite the role of the Tea Parties in getting them back into power in the House, the present leadership of the GOP is not taking this spending thing seriously yet.

Bohner was one of the supporters in the House of the first TARP, and despite his not taking earmarks, which is admirable, altho, I also see the argument for asking for earmarks, as money goes out of the state in the form of excessive taxes, and folks should get something back, hopefully infrastructure like roads.

To be fair, the american public isn’t ready even yet to hear how bad things are, and the drastic changes that are inevitable.

Jeb Hensarling is a true conservative and a very nice young man. I’m happy Michelle Bachmann will have more time to devote to things she is truly interested doing. I like both these people and know they are equally qualified.

What was wrong with Bachmann, none of you guys have told us why the tea party must be shut out totally from house leadership, and why we must keep the same old people from the ugly loser days in there.

If ever there was a conservative LEADER, it is Michele Bachmann. She is fearless...

...and, she's out there. I don't remember seeing what's-his-name out campaigning.

I sure don’t share your concern with her becoming the Right’s Pelosi. I know you mean that she would be fronting for Conservatism stridently, but I think Michelle has a fantastic head on her shoulders. A person like her should be in a position of leadership IMO.

I’ve got zero reservations about that.

We do not want to have establishment Republicans in every position of power. It’s time to shake things up, or at the very least position ourselves there to make major moves in the near future.

We simply cannot afford to let the party elites define Conservatism downward any longer.

>>> But this if you’re not 100% perfect your “ruling class”, “establishment”, “RINO”, etc. is quite annoying.

A lot of people haven’t gotten over never being invited to sit at the cool-people lunch table in high school.

Your entire post is childish nonsense, you wrote your own fake little script there, that is one way to avoid our actual posts, and the truthful reasons for our complaints.

I like both these people and know they are equally qualified.

They are not equally qualified, one is a change making leader, bold and inspiring, and effective, the other is a mouse that quietly votes conservative except when Cantor and his group tell him not to.

“may be thinking about perhaps running for the Senate in 2012 against Klobuchar (although she may prefer to wait until 2014 for the lower-hanging fruit, Al Franken).”

Fruit being the keyword here.

He is more low key personality wise, which might be an advantage. Its hard to paint someone a monster if no one has heard of him.

He and Joe Barton get on the local Dallas radio and they sound good when interviewed. Thats as much as I see or hear from him also, and Im only 1 district NW of him.

" The GOP leadership really owes the Tea Party something. Looks like their memory is pretty short. "

As short as the next day after a election.

Most politicians tell you anything you want to hear to get your vote, and once they cliched it... they go into the " who are those people " mode.
