Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann dropped out of the race for House Republican Conference chair on Wednesday night, ensuring that the GOP’s leadership elections will go on without any serious competition.

In a statement sent to a handful of reporters Wednesday evening, the tea party favorite said that Texas Rep. Jeb Hensarling has her “enthusiastic support for his candidacy” for the top messaging post in the GOP.

OK show me where Jeb Henserling is part of the anti-Reagan wing of the GOP. And come up with more than he endorsed Scozzafava. Sarah Palin endorsed John McCain and Carly Fiorina but I don’t see anyone ‘round here calling her “establishment” or part of the anti-Regan wing.

Well, we take our victories where we can get them. In the mean time, we simply need to send more folks with the Tea Party spirit to DC. We know they can get there. We just need to send up enough to build “critical mass.”

Obama is the enemy, not Jeb Henserling, Eric Cantor or John Boehner.

The marxist Clinton and his allies in the press made short work of Gingrich and the GOP in 94, and the three clowns you mention don't even come close to him in terms of effectively delivering the conservative message.

Obama is the enemy?

What about that insane communist bitch from San Francisco that has been 2 heartbeats away from POTUS since 2006 and her fellow travelers?

What about the commie press operating against the right without fear of retribution?

What about the GOP "Leadership", who love DC so much that they will let their mothers be raped by a pack of BOLSHEVIKS rather than make any waves and call the commies out by name?

Washington DC, its DISNEYLAND for politicians, NEVER A RECESSION IN DC, funny how that works.

I understand why people are nervous that the GOP will screw them over as it’s happened before. But this if you’re not 100% perfect your “ruling class”, “establishment”, “RINO”, etc. is quite annoying.

Bachmann is going to be great whereever she ends up. Knowing how she works, I’m willing to wager that she was promised ‘something’ that’s going to be beneficial to conservatives; i.e. a leadership position somewhere else; assistance with something etc.

If Hensarling is as conservative as I’ve heard from other FReepers and what I’ve read...we’re ok. There is NO reason to start getting spastic over something like this. Bachmann is smart enough that she got something for dropping out.

of course this is only imho

Ugh. Cantor and McCarthy. Self-serving slippery ladder climbers. Larry Flint will be sure to keep his presses inked and ready.

You didn’t think that the Tea Parties would affect any real change did you?

There was a poster here during the Fl primaries pimping some Doctor no one knew saying Rubio was handpicked by the GOP for the Fl seat and was a RINO.

I hate the term RINO more than any other political term, because it has just become what you call someone who offends your sensibilities nowadays.

Boehner

There are close to 80 members of Congress that belong to a caucus founded by marxists.

Give me a shout when BOEHNER and the rest of the country clubbers call them out for a fight.

Hensarling is a good one, and about as conservative as they come. This isn’t a loss in any way.

Yes, thats a good way to decide who gets chairmanships, based on who they endorse or whether they think certain strategies are important. Lets not look at whether Hensarling would be effective at the job, lets deny it to him because of an endorsement. Same thing with Spencer Bachus in Al. Lets keep him from the Finance Chair, not because we think he will be weak at that position, but because he questioned the wisdom of running nominating O’Donnell. Lets punish people for their endorsements so we can make sure Bob Casey is Senator instead of Santorum.

I cant think of a better reason to cut off conservatives than they have insulted me personally. We must protect personalities if we hope to cut the budget.

She’s the only one who will go on TV and present the conservative viewpoint. The rest of them are basically useless.

“we are being attacked by the establishment, they are hammering daily at Governor Palin, and now DeMint, and the tea party.

Conservatives are in a battle with the anti-Reagan wing of the GOP”

What I said there is totally accurate, how does refusing to let in a single leader from our conservative movement that just delivered a massive victory, not reinforce that statement.
