Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann dropped out of the race for House Republican Conference chair on Wednesday night, ensuring that the GOPs leadership elections will go on without any serious competition.
In a statement sent to a handful of reporters Wednesday evening, the tea party favorite said that Texas Rep. Jeb Hensarling has her enthusiastic support for his candidacy for the top messaging post in the GOP.

There are also House Republican Conference vice chair (currently Cathy McMorris Rogers) and Conference Secretary (currently John Carter) positions in the House leadership. I expect Hensarling to name Bachmann to one of those positions at the earliest opportunity.

“Ditto! Hensarling is my rep and he was Tea Party before there was Tea Party.”
Right. I saw him going back a few years.
He WAS Tea Party before there was Tea Party.
Boehner picking him is a big nod to the sentiment of the wins by solidly conservative candidates, not just in 2010 but also those already onboard.
All this rancor is not productive.

HEY, NEWBIE - CUT WITH THE NAME CALLING! GOT IT? You are acting like a troll. If you can't take someone else's opinion of YOUR 'bigger fish to fry', 'roll over and play dead' tactic - you are too thin skinned to be here.
You better be a fast learner!
Im Canadian and cant vote in your elections anyway.
Then shut your piehole about what I think about my country's candidates!

Maybe that’s some folks intention. There are people who are...
A. Not happy unless they are cause dissension.
B. Who can’t stand someone who is less than 100% Simon pure.

Who said anything was wrong with Bachman? Why do you assume Hensarling is not Tea Party? Aside from Boehner being the fill in leader for a year, who in current leadership was in leadership from 94-06?Making sense around here does no good these days. Seems a good number of Freepers think if you're not named Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann you're an establishment RINO out to screw the good people who put you into office.
Personally I think Michele Bachmann's talents can be better used elsewhere. Newt Gingrich said as much last night on Greta. A lot of new tea party type members will be coming into Congress. Let her grow the tea party caucus into a force to be reckoned with in the GOP/congress. She can be the voice of the tea party, the tea party liaison to the leadership.

So Republicans will get voted out in 2012 because Michele Bachmann did not become the Republican Conference Chair. Uh, ok. Whatever.

How is the GOP screwing the tea party when the put up a solid conservative for a leadership post? ontheissues.org rates Jeb Henserlingn as more conservative than Michele Bachmann. Michele Bachmann said he was her mentor when she came into congress. That’s screwing over the tea party?
