Government Workers Making $150,000+ Have Doubled Under President Obama

Salaries for Federal workers have soared since President Obama took office in 2009, with the number of workers making $150,000 or more doubling, according to USA Today (via the Atlantic).
The real winners here: those government workers employed for 15 to 24 years.
That doesn't jive well with the deficit commission's plans for a 10% cut in Federal jobs by 2015. Or perhaps it does, as the deficit commission may be able to reach its cost cutting aims with fewer cuts, targeted at those paid the most nearing retirement.
President Obama seems to disagree with the idea of cutting jobs or costs for Federal employees. He wants to see a 1.4% increase in salary for 2.1 million employees.

All according to the script.
I was watching Andy Card on TV this morning. He was Bush's chief of staff for a while. He was bemoaning the $150,000 salaries others in government were getting. While he was in he got $157,000 per annum!
It's so pitiful to see a guy making more criticizing those making less for making what they were making.
Andy didn't do his job all that well either. Else we'd not had that 2006 election disaster ~ so he betrayed Republicans, betrayed America, and now he's upset that the barbarians he personally allowed to infiltrate the Republic are carving up the pumpkin he left behind and are actually making less than himself.
I do hope Andy is not using the same shrink Alan Grayson is using ~ but he sure sounds like it.
What do people think that all the government agencies used those HUGE budget increases for if not to give HUGE raises to federal employees.

The target should be 20% by December 2010. There is no way we should be paying any government worker 150,000. Sorry, but someone would have to prove to me that 150K for any government job is justifiable.
$157k to be the President's chief of staff does not bother me at all. $150k to push pencils across a desk in the State Department does bother me a lot.
No kidding 157k to be Chief of Staff seems reasonable. Otherwise I can think of no job working for government being worth that much. I don’t see what most of them do anyway.

DoD or VA Surgeons can easily make that much.
Eagerly awaiting your walkback.
I'm certain that they do, and your point would be what? That doesn't mean that they should make that. I'll bet there are tons of government lawyers that make that and more, so. If the agency that has these people on staff can justify (what I said BTW) the cost, then maybe (maybe) the should make that much. Let me guess you..........never mind. LOL
One can tell one is dealing with an intellectual heavyweight when that opponent uses “LOL” in a supposedly intelligent conversation.
We’ve established now that you don’t think surgeons should make 150k...what are you, a door greeter at Wal-Mart? A Democrat?
