A Nato missile shield project that singles out Iran as a threat will be unacceptable to Turkey, President Abdullah Gul said in an interview broadcast Monday.
Nato is a defence organisation. A defence system is being developed against anyone in the world who has ballistic missiles and does not belong to Nato, Gul said.
Mentioning one country, Iran is wrong and will not happen. A particular country will not be targeted We will definitely not accept that, he said in an interview with the BBCs Turkish service, aired on Turkish television.
Nato and the United States want to set up a missile shield to protect Europe against what they perceive is a growing threat of short- and medium-range missiles possibly launched from the Middle East, especially from Iran.

"Targeted" with a purely defensive system?
Iran is the belligerent party doing the targeting, hence the need for a shield against its missiles.
Turkey's becoming more Islamist and uppity by the year.
At Incirlik Air Base in underground shelters, there about 50-100 B-61 bombs each with 340 kilotons each bomb. That is about roughly 16 times the bomb dropped on Hiroshima

The first news of Turkish aggression I remember hearing was about their fight with Kurdish separatists in Northern Iraq in 2007. Then there was the Mavi Marmara (Turkey Gaza Strip blockade breach) event on May 31, 2010.
Assure Turkey that any Iranian missles targeting Turkey will be allowed to get though.
Along with any Iranian missiles fired at any NATO target that fail and are on a trajectory for Turkey. So easy to satisfy those Muzzies. Just give 'em what they are asking for.....
