Recently obtained police reports document a hit-and-run collision involving community leader Bill Gates Sr.
The Seattle Police Department investigation reports show the father of one of the richest men in the world wasnt there the night of Aug. 16, when investigators found his car near Seattle Center, wedged against the car in front of it -- with the engine running and keys still in the ignition.
The owners of the other car involved in the incident called 911 when they realized their car couldnt move because Gates 2003 Mercedes 500 was wedged against their car.
They told dispatchers: "Somebody has crashed into the back of our car, and their vehicle is still running, and there is nobody anywhere near it." Operator: "What street are you on?" Answer: "Third and Mercer." Operator: "And no injuries that you can tell?" Answer: "No, theres nobody here."
The collision report indicates that police came out, investigated, had Gates car towed away and sent the family on their way. The report also notes that Gates car was parked illegally in an area marked "Tow away zone, no stops."
A short time after officers left the scene, they were advised that Gates and someone listed as a friend or companion had returned to find his car was gone. The officer documented that the Gates didnt realize his vehicle was in a tow zone or was pressed against the other car. After the officers explained the damage, saying both vehicles had deep scrape marks and slight cracking, Gates' companion/friend advised that Gates may have had a "senior moment and didnt think he was close to the other vehicle."
The officer at the scene wrote Gates a citation for a hit-and-run accident, an offense that carries a maximum sentence of a year in jail...

does that also explain the stupid tax increase proposal he placed on the ballot?
Senior moment or alcohol?
Well, they had to take my great-uncle Archie’s car away when he was 92 years old. Kept running into things.
A Senior socialist at that.
Say WA ping!
Exactly.
In other words his young 'uns need to put him under house arrest before he causes even more problems and possibly lawsuits. Daddy wouldn't do well in prison/jail me thinks. Sometimes the younger family intervenes much too late and the consequences are not good.
Note and reminder to all of us who have parents.
I can’t believe he doesn’t have a driver. Stupid. Anyone with that kind of money should have a driver and plenty of protection 24/7 out in public. Just sad that Gates would be so careless with the old man.
Exactly. There comes a time when some elders need to be sat down. (If one can even sit 'em down! lol--i think.)
The article goes on to state that, although information on this event was requested by the station on October 15 (and by law should have arrived within 5 days) the police did not get them the information until after the election. Nothing suspicious there . . . .
This has more to do with being a NW man. In the NE they have drivers. In the NW the women and men are generally very independent with or without power and money. Mr. Gates need no protection. The NW is not like that. The only protection that is needed there is from the socialist idiots, but those guys are often so ignorant and naive they do not even recognize the powerful and wealthy. The powerful and wealthy just sort of integrate into society in Seattle. You can often see ‘em eating burgers at a McDonalds with no pretensions. It is just the way it is.
Yeah, and what’s the father of one of the world’s richest men doing driving a seven-year-old car?
And I agree with the earlier Freepers who suggested alcohol was involved. Clearly the old geek just didn’t forget where he was and go wondering off. Very crafty old codger I would say.
Well....SOME say...Liberalism is a mental disease....
AW. Excellent point and catch! I agree with you. (Nothing suspicious there. /sarcasm.)
SOME say...Liberalism is a mental disease....
I say absolutely it is!
See if he was a conservative, he'd just smash the car and shout with his fist in the air, "Move that damn thing and leave a note saying move the damn thing! signed Bill Gates Sr., conservative. :-D. lol.
i think we found a winner here.
