As far as I am concerned it is a government-monitored personal information mine into which people with exaggerated senses of self-importance spend inordinate amounts of time shoveling ‘ore’.
I zealously guard my FB. Only two friends on there and they’re both Conservative Christians. The other stuff is ‘likes’. No interest in dealing with liberal claptrap.
Got a fake name, fake email, and say all kinds of stuff regarding muzzies, shar’ia law, commie libbies...heh, lost a 100 “friends” in my last tirade. Currently fighting the site from some idiots,”Kill A Jew a Day,” oh and a love Olbermann site...yeesh!
I love this..i have been doing this on a regular basis to a friend who constantly posts everything MOveon.org passes on. The other day she posted something about how there would no longer be ‘diversity” in Congress. I hit them with the facts that we added the same number of women as left, 2 African Americans, many more Hispanic Candidates, etc The zinger was when I pointed out to her and the “bemoaners” on her page, that the Dems who lost were for the most part, the “white” guys that they feared had now taken over the gov’t. It shuts down the conversation and the posting right away, plus it allows me to enter some facts into a major liberal conversation.
I believe that I have five friends on Facebook, and I have absolutely no use for it. So I’m unlikely to have this kind of exchange there.
However, I’ve indulged in such discussions elsewhere. Anywhere you can find a lot of young, liberal, and naive kids, you can have those discussions.

It’s a waste of time to argue with leftists. They are almost always too dumb to understand what is going on in an argument.
What’s Facebook?
I have close to 160 facebook friends and alot were/are the artsy leftist types. Alot of them I unfriended during the elections but there were quite a few others who were politically quiet or apathetic. Lots of replies were the I never knew that!.....If I just changed a mind or two with the threads or great photos I posted then I consider it a success. I never post personal info, bdates, pet names, etc or anything that I wouldn’t say in public
Rule #1 should be: when suggesting a top ten list, put it on one page.

Aside from stealing my info, its just an enormous waste of time (I think sO) not to mention one of the biggest hobbies of your typical leftwing nitwit. I’d like to stay different from them.
I can’t even do it anymore... was causing me health problems. Lefties are real haters.
I don’t start a lot of arguments there but I do link FR in my profile....that way I might lead someone out of their liberal bubble.
I'm an Air Force brat and we moved around a lot, so we aren't particularly close to our relatives. However, when I got on FB a year ago, they all friended me. A lot of them don't mention politics, but I do....gently and without insults, unlike the 3 above.

My presence on Facebook has provided elightenment to many of my friends and caused others to refrain from posting nonsense.
My high school friends were very tight back in the day and I’m pleased that we still are today despite the 20+ years we didn’t communicate regularly.

I got into a huge flame war with a lefty acquaintance regarding global warming. I kept posting facts and he kept getting more pissed off. He became unhinged after that saying that my sources were blogs and so therefore were not credible. He also stated, basically, that he had done so much research that he was smarter than everyone else on the subject. I turned him off after that.
