Vanity: D.C. Schools: Now Serving Dinner

A year ago, President Obama said that, for many of the nation's public school students, their school lunch is "their most nutritious meal—sometimes their only meal—of the day." Now, 10,000 kids in the nation's capital are getting an early dinner, in addition to their lunch and breakfast, at school.

This will give their mothers more welfare benefits that can be spent on other things.

I do not think we have many of those in our fine Government these days.. I agree totally, I have no problem with them stopping this program. I just do not see any in power right now that has the big brass ones to do it.

When the courts turned the mental patients loose, that meant many of them got to get involved in child care.

So, I suppose we should punish young children on account of the failure of the courts to protect them.

It is the old dilemma-do you let the kids go hungry because of delinquent parents?

Come on now, stand outside any school and see if you can spot a skinny kid. Maybe in the tony suburbs and in the private schools but in the inner city you won't see many.

Someone here posted a link to a youtube video of a black American Bandstand television program from 40 years ago. It was amazing, the kids were all skinny as rails.
