No matter what you say....there is this bit “Texan” in George Bush.
I would have thought any attack was a declaration of war. Destroying the WTC is just an attack, but hit the Pentagon and it’s war. Did he really write that?
Sadly, we don’t have enough ass kickers in our midst. Yes, it can be an unpleasant job, but sometimes it has to be done.
As for GWB’s time as the President, there were other times when he needed to kick ass. That was his failure...
BO’s book about the Christmas Day Bomber:
“My blood was boiling. We were going to find out who did this on Kwanza, bow and apologize for making them mad at us,” Obama writes.
I supported it, I am glad that Hussein is room temperature, but I believe the years after 9/11 were mishandled. We should have vaporized torra borra till we were sure bin laden was cold.
the rules of engagement in the Middle east stinks of vietnam politics and it is only worse after zer0 became _resident.
War should be like it was between the years 1941 and 1945. No quarter....unconditional surrender....or ultimate destruction with saturation bombing, not smart bombs.
At a glance at the headlines I thought he was talking about the financial meltdown and we could go after Clinton, Frank, Dodd, AIG, Bernanke, Gramm, Paulson, Cox, Congress, ‘rats in general and even Bush himself.
Internal/external enemies BUMP!
I'd rather have a kick ass President when we're under attack than one who implies we've been "insensitive" and had it coming.
I voted for this man twice. I was not altogether pleased with his policies- frankly, he enabled an excessive amount of spending, created yet another unsustainable government program (the prescription drug benefit) and somehow managed to give out stimulus checks even though the government was/is going broke. And he refused to call a shovel a shovel and admit that Islam is what we are at war against. But at least he carried the war to the enemy. And he was better than the alternative- a crumb left over from the Clinton era, and a Vietnam War-era traitor.
No boots on the ground, no Iraq attack.
Nuking Kabul and Taliban base areas would have sent the correct message: Islam, we will bury you. Starting today.
As it is, we're watching our finest warriors get killed for absolutely no reason whatsoever, other than to boost the morale of every Muslim on earth from the de facto president on down to the stinkiest raghead taxi driver in Deerbornistan. Disgusting.
George screwed this up, big time, because he surrounded himself with neocon idiots and took their bad advice.
On Sept 12, 2001, there should have been no "Afghanistan" any longer. It should have become The Forbidden Zone.
Whatever my disagreements with President Bush were during his 8 years as President (and there were a few ...) there was never a doubt in my mind that he did everything possible to prevent another attack and he took the battle directly to the enemies of America.
That's resolve, that's leadership.
Thank You President Bush.
When I saw the headline, I thought this was pre-election advice from GWB to the electorate about how to respond to the events of the past 22 months: Porkulus, health deform, largest budget deficits in history, slowest recession recovery in modern history etc.
And I was thinking to myself: most voters followed his advice!
Oh how I wish we still has a President with a full set of balls!!!
With God as my witness, I miss that man’s leadership.
God Bless George W. Bush.
All I have to do is to say 4 words; “President Gore”, “President Kerry” and my votes for Bush’43 are resoundingly affirmed! You cannot elect that which is not there. I don’t think that John McCain was a good choice but he did bring out Sarah Palin from obscurity, didn’t he? We must make choices from the menu that we have or else waste them on 3rd parties.
Everyone and their dog knew who was responsible that minute. Not nuking mecca and medina has gone down as one of the wortst mistakes in history.
And he came so close! Or not.
