New York House Race Up for Grabs After Vote Error Found
Politics Daily ^ | 11-6-10 | Tom Diemer

A tabulation error has thrown in doubt the election night victory of Rep. Tim Bishop on Long Island and given Republicans hope that they may add yet another seat to their new majority in the House of Representatives.

Officials in Suffolk County said the error, discovered Friday, shifted several thousand votes and erased Bishop's 3,500 vote margin. That put Republican challenger Randy Altshuler ahead by just under 400 votes in New York's 1st Congressional District. Bishop is seeking a fifth term in the district, which includes many of New York's beach communities.

I have said the same in the past. It's a shock that they do not pursue this issue with passion....That is unless there are areas where there is guilt on the republicans part? It just makes no sense that when we've had the ability to make changes in securing the voting system it is not a priority? It's the key to removing the criminals in our local, state and federal government.

It’s very easy to make a tabulation error when you/ve been working for 16 - 18 hours without a break...

Nothing to see here, move on ... any time a contest is “questioned” and a few votes can move it, it automatically goes to the Democrat ... didn’t you get the memo?

A number of senate races, IMHO were literally stolen without a whimper from the GOP, namely Colorado & Nevada.

Good point! It started with Nixon's win in 1960 stolen by the Daly machine in Cook county and has continued unabated ever since.

In this case it was a “tabulation error”. The votes went into the wrong column.

Thanks. I think we knew that - all the Dem vote cheating just runs together. From missing ballots, discovered ballots, to ballots in ponds - I’m amazed that they reported/corrected it. They must be real certain that the absentee ballots will go in the Dems’ favor.

"Honestly, many of the state congresses when R."

Well said, especially when D was absent.
