At their new political high-water mark, Republicans have plenty of reasons to celebrate - and at least one large cause for worry.
On Election Day, voters shattered the Obama agenda of expanded public benefits and increased income tax progressivity, leaving the president to reassemble his goals with glue and tape. During this midterm cycle, Republicans became reacquainted with estranged friends: independents, seniors, college-educated voters, working-class voters, rural voters and suburban voters. The Republican Party will benefit from the infusion of diverse, attractive new leaders, including some, such as Florida Sen.-elect Marco Rubio, with Tea Party pedigrees...

Gee, I wonder why..........
National Tea Party Convention

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (November 1, 2010) The Memphis TEA Party announced today that it will be the host organization of the National Tea Party Convention which will be held in Memphis, Tennessee from April 7~9, 2011. The event will focus on the theme of Liberty Through Accountability with speakers
We can not afford to pt out another Bob Dole or John McCain in 2012.
The MSM wants nothing more than to foment a civil war within the Republican party. Palin appears to be the fire upon which they can pour gasoline provided by single-sourced, Republican insiders. Keep in mind that those ‘insiders’ are very likely the same gang of geniuses who brought us John McCain.
However, if the Republican establishment does not want the party destroyed, they will openly embrace Sarah Palin. That does not mean they have to support her for President (even I have my reservations about that), but they damn well better take her messages to heart.
Well, they know that Palin’s endorsement was sincere and Romney’s was just blowing with the wind as usual and not sincere. They understand Romney, they cannot understand anyone that has strong principles that overide personal ambition.
Blah, blah, blah.
NO RETREAT, BABY, NO SURRENDER!!!
Blue Blood, Country Club Republicans be damned.
I am not going to let up my attacks on the RNC exec committee. Remember they wouldnt allow her to speak? And the slimely behind the scenes staffers/consultants.
On the enemies list of the conservatives in the senate..
McConnel, Cochran, Hatch, Burr, Chambliss, Cornyn, Grassley, Graham, Inhofe, Ensign and a few others. These are the ones that dont want to give up their little kingdoms, earmarks and pork.
Rush will be naming names..count on it.
" Instead, the president chose the current complex, regulatory approach to reform,
precisely because it seemed less radical and disruptive than the other options.
It was patterned in part on health reforms in Massachusetts signed by then-Gov. Mitt Romney,
a Republican, thereby applying at least a veneer of bipartisanship.
The message that must be drilled into the head of the GOP is that the people are sick of being looted by political hacks of whatever party.
The real story is, “The TEA Party and Sarah Palin’s GOP problem.” (The GOP needs to understand that middle-of-the-road is no longer acceptable to the new conservatives).
every notice they never mention the huckster either?
Building the next hit list.
I agree. Palin is an asset that the Republican party would be wise to use. That said, running her for president will guarantee 4 more years of Obama. She cannot win a national election because the has been successfully marginalized by the media. Independents just aren’t going to come out and vote for her.
We have about a year to find a candidate. In some ways, the longer it takes that candidate to emerge, the better. There will be less time for the media to tear them down.
Purge yourselves of your progressive rino tendencies or accept your inevitable demise.
You are NOT too big to fail if you're not big enough to lead us away from the cliff you and the demonrats are racing to.
It implies that what happened on 2 Nov 2010 is cyclic in nature - the democrats will have their own “high-water mark” shortly.
I wouldn't put any money on that statement until the next Congress has adjourned. The dynamics have changed. If the Republicans stay true their promises (a reelection necessity) and the democrats throw a political temper tantrum (a high probability event) during the forth coming lame duck session, the results of Nov 2010 will be regarded as the first in a series of waves, each higher than the last, instead of a cyclic change of the tides.
BTW, ask anyone who lives along the coasts visited by hurricanes - what does more damage tidal changes or wind driven waves.
Huck NEVER gets bad press, the SRM loves him. Liberal people I know love him, too, go figure.
He’s the one GOP guy I would love tying to the tracks.
Once we all quit buying into the Democrat media divide and conquer meme, will will be hitting the pavement and moving down the road.
I heard a democrat say yesterday that their strategy is to do all they can do get us to war with each other.
-—”Independents just arent going to come out and vote for her.”-—
Whatever.
How did McCain and Dole do with those Independents?
