Ex-President George W. Bush rips wisdom of Barack Obama, Sarah Palin and John McCain to friends

WASHINGTON - Two years of retirement haven't dulled George W. Bush's political zest - and President Obama and Sarah Palin are among his under-the-radar targets.

The 43rd President has told friends the ex-Alaska governor isn't qualified to be President and criticizes Arizona Sen. John McCain for putting Palin on the 2008 GOP ticket and handing her a national platform.

"Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man," a Republican official familiar with Bush's thinking told the Daily News.

"He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin."

Ok, I was turned of immediately when I read, “Ex-President Bush.” I’ve never heard the media refer to Bill Clinton as Ex-President.

What is a Rino?

Jeb is a Rino

Jeb Bush said it's time for the Republican Party to give up its "nostalgia" for the heyday of the Reagan era and look forward, even if it means stealing the winning strategy deployed by Democrats in the 2008 election. "You can't beat something with nothing, and the other side has something. I don't like it, but they have it, and we have to be respectful and mindful of that,"

-vs-

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all."" -- President Ronald Reagan

McVain’s campaign was DOA until Sarah Palin came on the scene.

John McCain "rally" (LOL) before Sarah Palin.

PALIN/mccain rally after the VP selection.

For the record, I call B.S. on this comment attributed to W. Not his style. Smacks of Rove indeed.

” Republican official familiar with Bush’s thinking told the Daily News.”

Yeah, right.

A media official familiar with the New York Daily News said reporters there eat puppies and rape goats in the basement.

The Goebbel’s propagandists are slipping into comedy.

Got news for you. Of the entire Bush extended family, Jeb is the one true conservative. This is something everyone in FL knew and knows. He is the reason charlie crist is toast today. Actions, and much smarter than his dad or brother.

he didn’t rip a single person while president - he let his veto pen sit idle while Delay and Hastert made a mess of spending - why would he start now? Because he has nobody to help him with wars or legislation. He was more loyal then his FRIENDS.

By making this statement, GWB has erased any positive notions I had left about him.

What statement? Bush made no "statement." This is a fabricated hit piece whose headline totally misrepresents facts in the article.

The statement ostensibly came from a source identified as a "republican official familiar with Bush's thinking." Think about that. A precinct committee worker in Dripbucket Vermont, in charge of donuts and earmuff deployment, who thinks he knows how Bush thinks, fits that description. If there were any actual connection whatsoever between this so-called source and Bush, you think they'd resort to this lamest of the lame descriptions?

OK, Daily News, come up with a better attribution than that. Unnamed sources won't cut it. Until you substantiate your claims, it's a BS story.

If this is true I certainly will have to get a new screen name here. I defended GW through thick and thin.

If this is true? If it is true it says something about his political smarts at the very least!

John McCain was a terrible candidate, he staggered and stumbled around debate stages, yelling at his supporters etc.

If this is true I will be throwing GW under the bus and quick.

His wife has already come out as a pro abortionist (had always suspected that) so she turned out to not be a lady at all! I call the current first lady the First #*&#, seems Laura was a tramp as well.

Anybody that supports abortion in any way shape or form is a tramp.

If this is true, that GW feels this way about Sarah, then I am done with him, he`s off my Christmas list

Sarah was the only bright spot in the entire campaign, and now we get to watch the MSM all of a sudden embrace GW as one of theirs, they will say even GW Bush says Sarah is not qualified to be President.

Sarah is the most qualified person to come along in a lot of years

Florida. Jeb’s proven track record of success in business, and his written and spoken word in the course of conducting the people’s business. GW had had nothing but failed businesses up until the time he lucked into the hugely govt. subsidized rangers baseball organization and (stadium). That is a fact. G H.W. Bush is the son, with daddy’s money, of Prescott Bush Sen. of CT, and a complete progressive one worlder. You will recall, GHWBush dismantling in ONE term everything Ronald Reagan had accomplished and setting up is own Mcain like failure to beat Bill Clinton, who gave us Obama (reluctantly). The narrative is not RINO but establishment and progressives- doesn’t matter if D or R by the name. That said, Jeb does not want to run, and his wife and daughter are liabilities, even as Jeb speaks fluent spanish (did you know— not like GW, real spanish). I fear for his family if he changes his mind.

I used to have respect for Bush.

Georgie, you practically single-handedly wiped out the Republican Party.

Obama won the election because of YOU, you jackass.

You nailed it. If Rove were any more jealous of Palin all the pancake make-up in the world couldn’t cover the ugly shade of green he’d turn. His multiple attempts to undercut Palin have been a disgusting thing to watch.

That would be Colin Powell, o ba ma supporter and non-conservative. Read what Norman Schwartzkopf thought of powell. So GHWB gave us obama by dismantling Ronald Reagan. Remember him calling “voodoo economics” of Reagan. And the congress made that possible.

At first I thought this was a quote from Dubya’s new book. It turns out it comes from “unnamed Republican sources.” I think that’s the goal of this article: they’re trying to make it as if it comes from Dubya’s new book.

We will see if Bush II denies or repudiates the comments.

Personally I will interpret silence as assent.
