Boehner better think long and hard before shutting out Bachmann on this, the conservatives are not a flash in the pan.
This isn't about who will be Speaker. It is about who will chair the GOP Conference. I am thankful a seasoned public servant like Boehner will be Speaker.
Michele is the real thing and needs a leadership role,This guy from Texas who the hell is he? Bachmann is the one who single handedly was fighting the Rats.
Call your representatives and start pushing them to support her (or else) :O)
Boehner, if he active is against Michelle Bachmann (probably one of the most visable Tea Party supports in Congress) IS JUST SENDING A MESSAGE OF “Screw-You” to the Tea Party!
I am willing to give him one shot. My gut says he got it.
He has pull and “if” he got it he can be good for the cause.
Hanging around Washington for years and years means exactly ZIP -— and could mean that your Conservative bona fides have been corrupted by RHINOitis!!! Seniority wasn’t mentioned by the Founders, because they never anticipated anyone spending their LIVES in Congress. If someone is doing a mediocre job, what value is it if they have been doing it for a very LONG time?!? MERIT, not seniority, should decide positions.
And, by the way GUYS, have you noticed that it is the Conservative WOMEN who seem to be the point of the lance this time around? I think it is high time for the “Good Ol’ Boys” to be inclusive before they find themselves excluded.
I don’t know anything about Jeb Hensarling so I’ll leave him alone but Boehner talking about supporting him because of what he’s done for the “team” is far from immpressive. I’ve seen how the team treats those who put doing the right thing over team interests.
“House Republican leaders don’t disagree. But that doesn’t mean they want the hyperbolic Bachmann being a spokeswoman for the new majority during the 2012 election cycle.”
Careful people, this is AP and Boehner never said that.
I read the article & didn’t see anything Boehner said that would indicate he’s against her in a leadership position. Did I miss something? I realize the AP states it as fact, but I’m sorry, unless I hear a clip or read a direct quote from Boehner himself I’m not going to take their word for it. I call BS on this article.
The hell with Speaker of the House. I say run for President. Sure she would make a great speaker but she’d make an even better President.
Note to John B...if you did not get the message in 2010...you will surely get it in 2012...the Tea Party is not going away. And if the GOP won’t go along for the ride a third party will be created at some point and Bhoener will become a WHIG.
There goes the AP, turning a straight news piece into opinion by labeling Bachmann as “hyperbolic”.
Those dirty, rotten, sorry, low-down, moronic, ignorant — !! They’d better think twice — then think AGAIN! They reject Michelle and they as much as TELL the Tea Party to get the #+!! out of the Party — to ride at the back of the bus!
I DON’T THINK SO, Mr. Boehner! NOT ANYMORE! WE BRUNG YOU!

So why all the vitriol here against Boehner?
Sometimes FR is just wacko.
btt
So Boehner isn’t endorsing anyone in a battle of 2 conservatives. Can someone tell me why I should be mad cause I’m not seeing it. If you rad the article you’ll see Pence supports Hensarling too.
Given that scenario, IMHO, it seems appropriate that either Bachmann or someone closely associated w/the Tea Party Movement should get at least one of the 4 positions. Based upon the amount of time, talent, effort, organizational skill and fund raising ability contributed by Republican/Tea Party women in this past election, it would also seem very wise to give strong consideration to qualified women candidates.
(For the record, I am a male and philosophically opposed to “quota-filling,” identity politics; however, I do believe there is exceptional female talent available in the Republican Party; and it should be recognized, encouraged and cultivated.)
