Read all the posts and the article plus one supporting article and there seems to be some confusion amongst those posting. So, to recap: There are 4 House leadership positions being considered. Michelle Bachmann is NOT seeking the Speakership position; she is seeking the #4 position (least powerful of the 4 positions). All those that seem to have the inside track for the 4 positions are male, GOP “insiders” and do not appear to have been part of the Tea Party movement as best I can tell.

Given that scenario, IMHO, it seems appropriate that either Bachmann or someone closely associated w/the Tea Party Movement should get at least one of the 4 positions. Based upon the amount of time, talent, effort, organizational skill and fund raising ability contributed by Republican/Tea Party women in this past election, it would also seem very wise to give strong consideration to qualified women candidates.

(For the record, I am a male and philosophically opposed to “quota-filling,” identity politics; however, I do believe there is exceptional female talent available in the Republican Party; and it should be recognized, encouraged and cultivated.)
