OK, the elections over, and the message from most voters was that they didnt care much for President Obamas agenda. Now the focus is on the race for the presidency in 2012.
On the Republican side, its a dead heat between the ex-governors Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Mike Huckabee of Arkansas and Sarah Palin of Alaska, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary voters.
Asked who they would vote for if the Republican presidential primary were held today, 20% say Romney, 19% Huckabee and another 19% Palin. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Romney and Palin are tied among male GOP voters, while Huckabee has a slight edge among female voters.
In October 2009 when Likely Republican primary voters were given a choice of five potential presidential nominees, Huckabee led with 29% support, followed by Romney with 24% of the vote and Palin at 18%.
Rounding out the list of seven candidates chosen by Rasmussen Reports for the question, with their levels of support, are former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (13%), Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty (6%), Texas Congressman Ron Paul (5%) and Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels (3%). Seven percent (7%) prefer some other candidate, and eight percent (8%) are undecided.

The survey of 1,000 Likely Republican Primary Voters was conducted on October November 1, 2010 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
I know I am treading on thin ice, but I still like Jeb Bush.
Demint is quite emphatic that he is not interested.
Palin Rubio
Palin DeMint
Palin Pence
Palin/Nugent
It’s not at all clear that this country will ever elect another Bush or Clinton.
JC Watts and Marco Rubio
Rush Limbaugh/Lynn Swan

Ditto, Mitt!
Both are RINOS and not firm enough on conservative principles.
I forgot Newt--also--skeedaddle, Newt!
vaudine
Palin-Bachman 2012
unbeatable ticket
I really really like JC Watts but just do not think he is the guy. Haley Barbour and Christie....in that order.
Rubio
Contact the candidate you most admire and ask for their recommendations on a POTUS candidate.
That’s the ticket;)
i.e. Chris Christie and Jeb Bush have said NO - so who would they prefer/support and why?
Paul Ryan.......brilliant and articulate!
I thought there was no chance McCain would be nominated in 2008, I was wrong, I want to say no chance to Romney in 2012, but I fear, and am concerned at what I think the answer will be.
I don't think Palin can win, though I do like her, and while Mike Pence, if he runs, would get my vote, as another freeper put it, its like Duncan all over again....
I have no idea who I'll support in the GOP primary for president, but I'm not keen on any of them.
This is actually depressing...........
Huckabee....GO AWAY!

Of all the ‘08 candidates who are mentioned again for ‘12, Huckabee never ceases to puzzle me the most. I don’t see any strengths or natural base there, nor do I believe that one in five Republicans favor him.
Thats the ticket;)
i.e. Chris Christie and Jeb Bush have said NO - so who would they prefer/support and why?
Not sure thats the best approach, most are going to choose people that they were or are friends with or close to or who can best return the favor of helping them out in their states now....
For example, Mike Pence has said he would support Mitch Daniels if Daniels runs (they are both from Indiana)....
Pick any two and we have a winning Ticket
Bachman
Jindahl
Ryan
Palin
DeMint
What....... they don’t have the newly re-elected governor of Texas, Rick Perry in the mix. He’s starting a book tour to gage the mood of the public it seems.
AUSTIN On the heels of his re-election victory, GOP Gov. Rick Perry boot-scooted his way to New York to pitch his new anti-Washington book, fueling speculation that he’s building his national reputation with an eye on the next presidential ticket.
However he uses it, Perry’s getting attention. He has appearances scheduled this morning on NBC’s Today Show, Fox & Friends (on Fox) and the Glenn Beck radio program. Friday, he’ll be on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. Then he heads to Washington, where he’ll be on the Laura Ingraham show and speak at the Heritage Foundation book lecture series on Monday, said campaign manager Rob Johnson.
And this should be fun the plan is for him to be on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Monday, Johnson said.
end snips
If Hillary Clinton turns out to be the Dem. nominee, I think that would clearly put the ball in Sarah’s court.
I know I am treading on thin ice, but I still like Jeb Bush.
