I really wish Bobby Jindal would catch on with GOP voters, or Paul Ryan or John Thune. These are all smart, articulate, committed conservatives. I don't want these re-treads from 2008 like Romney, Huckabee or Palin.

Unfortunately, a hypothetical person will not run against Obama. A real one will.

After seeing him perform during the oil spill, I’d love to see Jindal run.

Jindal might make US Senator from Louisiana, should he want it.

I look forward to seeing him in the Palin cabinet.

Palin is the perfect candidate. She goes in after being fully tashed by the press. No stones were left unturned. She can hit the ground running on smearing and hitting Obummer on his record.

The Rats are going to give any challenger an anal exam like no other. Huckabee and Romney are going to look like Christine O’Donnell once the WH is done.

Well this is all interesting:

Huckabee leads on name recognition and the fact that she’s not Palin. He needs to go.

Palin has an incredibly vocal following which isn’t as big as that following likes to believe they are.

Ron Paul...again name recognition. He’s out to lunch.

Glad to see Romney didn’t make double digits. He is the worst possible candidate.

There is room to move into the void for a viable conservative candidate!

I know he’s far too green and he’s quite young, but I gotta tell you, I like this Rubio guy.

It’s probably too early after their elections, but John Kasich and Marco Rubio would be pretty good candidates.

DeMint, Barbour, Pence or Daniels for me, but I’ll gladly support anyone who is not named Romney or Huckabee.

No more RudyMcRombee’s, no milquetoast-wimps and NO Newt’s!

Let’s try a real conservative, for a change. Been a while.

Let wait to 2012 before we worry about 2012. We should focus on the newly minted members of congress to make damn sure they do what we elected them to do.

After three years of howling about Obama winning his senate seat and then running for the White House, I have to say I'm stunned by the number of people who want Rubio to run.

He seems good so far, based on his campaign and one nice speech. I guess we've just tossed the whole "experience" thing. We just want our own Obama.

At this point the only thing I'm sure of is: Anybody but Huckabee or Romney.

“Romney, Huckabee or Palin.”

Palin not usually grouped in with the other two.

Except that Obama won’t be running in 2012. The Dems know that they have to put someone else in. Hillary?

I would really have a hard time mustering much enthusiasm for any of those three.

We have a great bench growing, but no one seems to be the perfect fit. On paper, Jindal is perfect, but he has been pretty lackluster on tv. Might be a tough sell. Chris Christie would absolutely destroy Obama, but he is a first termer who likely won’t run, and lacks the conservatism on many topics that folks here would want. Mitch Daniels is perfect on paper, but lacking in the presence to run a campaign. Jeb Bush would be a great candidate, except for his family name. The House has some great guys - Pence and Ryan specifically, but it is near impossible to run for President from the House. Palin is out there, but is a real risk to just be a replay of 2008 dynamics. I doubt he would run, but DeMint may be a good one. I hate seeing Senators run, but he has the national draw to pull it off. He also hasn’t expressed interest.

This really doesnt mean anything. Two years is a long time in the political world.

June of 2009 showed Democrats would gain 3 seats in the House. Look what happened...
