New Delhi: The White House will, of course, stay in Washington but the heart of the famous building will move to India when President Barack Obama lands in Mumbai on Saturday.
Communications set-up, nuclear button, a fleet of limousines and majority of the White House staff will be in India accompanying the President on this three-day visit that will cover Mumbai and Delhi.
He will also be protected by a fleet of 34 warships, including an aircraft carrier, which will patrol the sea lanes off the Mumbai coast during his two-day stay there beginning Saturday. The measure has been taken as Mumbai attack in 2008 took place from the sea.

The only tarnish on America as viewed by the Muslim world is the apathy, softness, and stupidity of our leaders who place words over deeds.

Hawaii would have been a lot cheaper, and it IS still the US, and it would keep the money in the USA.
I don't think barack obama gives a tinkers damn about his "staff", other than he thinks he's royalty and he's taking them along to serve his every whim.
This is an unprecedented, over-the-top, ill-timed, and needless trip to a country where there is nothing to warrant such an expenditure of time, effort and money.

I blame the 65-odd million people that voted for this jack*ss...thanks, you idiots! That is the CORRECT answer to this. To quote Rush "It is what it is" ... Obama is what he is. This is what he is, what he always was. Why the outrage, if this is what he is, isn't this what he's supposed to do?
Don't blame Obama, blame the jerks that voted for him.

Just curious, but is this a personal opinion based on personal experience with today's military or is it based on insider information?
And as much as I don't doubt your assessment, I would still hope that someone would have plans to relieve an insane President from office should such ever be required.
And I do believe such a thing may be necessary with Obama.

US Presidents usage of our tax payers money for their luxury living is exponentially increasing year after year. This administration takes the cake! 40 airplanes, six limos, 34 ships, 10 helicopters, 500 hotel rooms, 200 million dollars per day! It is not his money!
Do you suppose the unemployed citizens, who are having problems rounding up $50 to pay the phone bill, can get angry on such a waste? The popular media, including trivial shows like Oprah need to scream with indignation about wasting $200 million per day! We need to reduce the government waste.

There's a whole lot of people going to India with Great Leader, an unprecedented number compared to other presidential visits to foreign nations. He has enough people to establish a government in exile, should he need to.
Let's say, purely by coincidence, the United Sates suffers under horrific terrorist assault while he is away. The old Congress is on the way out and the new congress is not yet sworn in. Meanwhile, back in the land of the sacred cow, Great Leader and his mighty 4,000 can (after the nuclear / chemical / and or biological smoke clears) return safe and victorious.
What a terrifying novel that would be.

Good morning Rip Van Winkle. This isn't your father's Pentagon, this is the New Military complete with Sodomites and wall-to-wall Affirmative Action at every level, top-heavy with political "leadership", while middle management will go along to get that all important Pension. This Pentagon will more than likely order YOU marched into the boxcars than dare to threaten their own careers and pensions. Do you honestly think that patriotic leadership would endorse the last eight-years or so of insane, suicidal and wildly expensive Rules of Engagement? Do you really believe that Obama worshipper Colin Powell was a misfit and liberal anomaly in the military? This is Nero's Rome.In fourteen years at Free Republic - the above is one of the most accurate posts I've ever read. +1

This trip is all about reaching out to Muslims, he wants to show the Islamic world how much power he has, and how much he can take and flaunt.
It would be very interesting to experiment with a nationalized Koran burning event just as he leaves and see how Obama reacts to it.

Can this guy get any more tonedeaf??
The excesses of this Regime are already legendary, but to spend so much cash, and tie up so many National assets to cover what is obviously another family vacation is amazing, even for this crew.
Trimming the White House travel budget would be one way for the Republicans to make some serious budget cuts right off the bat. Congress has to fund this somehow, so let’s start saving by keeping Premier Hussein home.
