In another boon for Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, write-in ballots cast for Republican candidate Joe Miller wont count toward his total vote count. Alaskas Lt. Gov. Craig Campbell, who oversees elections, told the Associated Press that write-in ballots for Miller will be tossed out.
Really??
Investigate, Indict, Incarcerate!! NOW!! Bring back the Rule of Law starting yesterday.
I’ve NEVER seen a write-in be effective on a statewide election, something stinks big time.
What’s good for the gander (in this case), is good for the goose, come on pathetic Alaskans, you’re becoming the laughing stock of the nation, well, after CA that is...
Yep...they changed more than one rule to accommodate the Cow stealing the election. Fox, Queen Shep and the correspondent, just reported that out of 300,000 ballots yet to be counted, it will be almost impossible for Miller to catch up. The dim candidate conceded already. The Fox guy in Alaska is a giddy cheerleader for the Cow. Disgusting.
I guess it means one less vote for Murkowski though. What a bunch of Bull Poo Poo!!! If someone wrote Joe Miller I would say their intent was to vote for Joe Miller.
Sarah Palin is the one who went in there and tried to clean it up. She exposed a lot of it that people had not known about before. She is a reformer.
Good question. How can that be legal. Miller needs to fight that one.
Under what statutory authority can they do this?
Write-in ballots will be hand checked by three people — representatives from Miller, Murkowski, and the State. All other ballots will only be machine counted. So, if you are afraid the machine count will be corrupted, it could make sense to write in Joe Miller. You would (ordinarily) be sure your vote was counted.
I can’t conceive of any rational reason for not counting any ballot where the name was correctly spelled and it appeared as an allowed candidate name on the write-in list.
“...whoever cast them is just too darn dumb to be a voter.”
I said the same about our mail-in ballots. You have to sign the outside of the envelope. Or “If you are not able to sign, make your mark, with a witness signing on the line provided below.”
My mind went back to those old western’s with the Cowboy “making his mark”...
Post of the week bump.
May God continue to bless and protect her and the Palin family.
