Rangel won another term by a wide margin Tuesday despite lingering concerns over ethics allegations

Staffers purchased a dozen bottles of champagne weeks ago to celebrate Representative Charles Rangel’s victory Tuesday night. But the short celebration at the Martin Luther King Jr. Democratic Club on 128th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard did not pass without mention of the 40-year incumbent’s upcoming public trial for ethics charges.

Rangel won another term by a wide margin Tuesday despite lingering concerns over ethics allegations related to failing to pay income taxes and not properly disclosing personal assets.

Rangel—who won a crowded primary race in September and earned nearly 80 percent of the vote Tuesday—has, it seems, developed strong loyalties in Harlem.

When reporters at the victory press conference asked about the upcoming Nov. 15 trial, Rangel replied, “I’m glad you brought that up. I’m really not thinking about that tonight.”

This surprises anyone? Do you remember how many RATs were proud that Clinton was an adulterer and perjurer and rapist?

Proof that New York is just simply a Lost Cause.

Let's call a spade a spade here..no pun intended. Urban Blacks are a lost cause, trillions thrown at them and they still breed like cockroaches and consume government services and overwhelm the health-care system like virulent parasites. 40% of prison populations in some states are African Americans , that is quite a feat. In the city of Chicago 3 out of every 5 18-30 year olds are on probation, in prison or in the criminal justice system. I say cut off the money, all of it and let social Darwinism mature their culture. Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams agree with me.

“Now, more than ever before, the people are responsible for the
character of their congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it
is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be
intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high
qualities to represent them in the national legislature.” -

James Garfield, 20th President

Apparently being black trumps thievery, lying, stealing, and cheating the tax payers.

New York seems bent on staying the liberal cesspool that it is. And before anyone attacks me, I lived there and still have relatives there.

You are correct. They do not care much about ‘ethics’

On the other hand, they are absolutely OBSESSED with ‘ethnics’ -- so they keep re-electing him.

I don’t mean this as some sort of snipe but it is what it is... most minorities seem to vote for race. Nothing else really matter for 90% of them. This won’t change... Rangel is a textbook example of it. If the guy was a convicted drug-dealing murdering pedophile, they would still vote for him. You can’t change it. I mean, look at the coke snorting john who was re-elected as DC mayor back when. Same with Hispanics ... they will vote for Hispanic last names first, if there are none they default to D.
I wish it weren’t true, but it’s undeniable.

My guess is that this will all be wrapped up by the end of the year before the new congress takes over. Rangel will be found to be impeccably honest.

It speaks volumes about his constituents, doesn’t it?

Yes it does. A couple of other wretched examples:
Eddy Bernice Johnson TX-30
Sheila Jackson lee TX-18

Both these slugs were re-elected with over 70% despite gross ethical lapses and just general stupidity.

This is the guy whose own law firm dumped him in his upcoming ethics trial. Apparently (from what I’ve read), his sense of entitlement extended to his refusal to pay his legal bills. LOL.

Well, possibly he might be disciplined by the House Ethics Committee. But his constituents could care less if he’s a crook, as long as the perception is that he’s stealing from Whitey.
