A source close to Eric Cantor tells CNN that the Republican congressman will announce his intention to run for House majority leader at 10:45 a.m. in a written statement.

Do nothing? Excuse me? Get back to reality. He just led the minority into the majority and he got them to vote as a block on numerous occasions.
Hey Blog,
You forgot to take your medications...
this is NOT a challenge to Boehner
“Majority Leader” is subordinate to the Speaker of the House
Boehner will still be #1 as SOH
Cantor is not challenging Boehner but seeking to be the “party” leader while Boehner is Speaker of the House
My husband walked into the room while Boehner was speaking and remarked that it was a horrible speech. (he doesn’t pay that much attention to politics and didn’t even know who Boehner was)
We could use a more dynamic, more conservative speaker of the house.
I’m prolly in the minority here, but I was touched by Boehner’s words last night.
After I heard it, a thought occurred to me. Obama should listen to it. And listen to it again. And one more time, just for good measure.
Because perhaps if he did, Obama might “get it.” Boehner’s life experience mirrors most Americans’ experience and it’s why we fight so hard. Good grief, a child of a big family, helping out with the family business who works his way through school. That is at least half the people I have ever known in my life.
BUT IT IS NOTHING OBAMA HAS EVER KNOWN. Everything was handed to him. Boehner’s experience is as foreign to Obama as Obama’s experience is foreign to us.
What about Michele Bachmann?
She should be Speaker of The House
That's the sort of conservative FIRE IN THE BELLY we need!
Pence will run for Governor or President.
I hear you, but please see posts 21, 26, and 31 for my concerns.
The Tea Party needs to put a target on these folks ... ROVE, too!
I don’t trust Cantor.
I thought it was touching. He truly is a hometown boy who did live the American dream. Nothing he said last night was made up. His dad ran a local bar and he used to mop floors. He worked his way through college, and here he is today. His constituency has given him overwhelming majorities for years. He’s a good Congressman and those who want to cut him down simply don’t know him.
I don’t like Cantor. He is a whiney speaker and not very trustworthy.
I remember it quite well because I demonstrated against the group when they had a meeting [invitation only] in an Arlington restaurant.
Boehner, Bachmann, Cantor or Pence, who do you want at #3 after Bummer and Joe?
he does know them better than we do.....
I don’t begrudge Pence wanting to run for Gov....but we sure need someone like him leading THIS term of Congress.....We don’t need folks who helped Republicans make the Dems look like a better choice in ‘08.....Bachman, Pence.....Broun even....but not these two., and NOT Price...I think Price is plotting how to benefit from the Tea Party movement.....
Boehner over Canter. I do not trust Canter. Boehner is pretty reliable.
People are not keeping up with the news. Pence is stepping down from the leadership to contemplate a run for Indiana Governor, possibly US senate (if Lugar would retire), or maybe evn run for President.
Pence supports the entire Boehner-Cantor-McCarthy-Sessions team.
As do I.
